So I picked my new 2012 TL this past Monday and I'm loving it so far. I live in Nothern VA, Ashburn to be exact and the first act of business is to get the windows tinted. I want to do 50% all the way around because I'm not a fan of getting 2 different percentages. My car is gray, does anyone have a the same car with 50% all the way around I could see? Also I heard LA Tint is the best in this area is that true??

Congratulations on your new TL. I got my tint at Kartunes inc in Sterling, VA. I got the huper optik ESC45.

The huper optik gives better heat resistant. I've 3M ceramic install on my RL and it's huge difference but you can get more information HERE

I need one my wifes Mazda 6, as when it rains the water streams over the glass excessively thus reducing visibility dangerously.
For my TL, it looks ok, is there any added value other than looks?

You mentioned getting 50%? You really should consider 40% instead as the 50% is not really worth spending the money imo. I went with 40% on my wife's TL because did not want to get hassled by the law and wanted it to keep it livable.
Also having black interior makes it appear darker as well.

Thanks everyone. The reason I'm looking at 50% tint is because it's legal and don't you think it'll appear darker going on top of the factory tint?

I don't know about your area, but here 35% is legal.....and i think it's a perfect tint. You can still see in the car, it's not over powering, and it's classy. Go 35%, you won't regret it. 50% won't be much different than factory. You won't even know it's tinted imo.

Here in CT 35% tint is legal. BUT combined with the factory tint makes it illegal. That's why I went with the 40%. And as I mentioned before if you have black interior it will appear darker.

since when is 35% legal in CT? it must be fairly recent since Ive seen lots of nearly limo tints all around there. so theyve changed the regs?
