There are a few 2012 models leftover and wondering what I should pay for a MSRP $46k. Is $10k off asking to much?

My view is that an initial offer is never too low unless you insult the other side and/or make them think you're not serious. 10K probably exceeds that boundary.
That said, check Edmunds.com and TrueCar to get a sense for what the cars are actually selling for in your area. I think 5K off should be very doable, assuming there are a few dealers around you that you can get to compete for your business. People in cities that have lots of Acura dealers nearby are reporting even bigger discounts.
Also, check the new owner sign in at the top of this forum. A lot of people report the prices they paid.
Good luck in the hunt.

To me, no such thing as an insult- the dealer wants that car off the lot to make room for a 2013 or 2014 model (they're losing money on a car they already purchased)- offer to buy for such a discount and they may balk. Leave the dealer when they do and wait for the phone call from them trying to get you to bite. It does work (actually, one of the oldest car buying games). If you don't get it for the substantial discount, get a 2013.

Ask the dealer what rebates and incentives there are on the leftover 2012 compared to the 2013. If the dealer is willing to negotiate, 10 k off of the 2012 might not be that far off depending on what rebates and incentives are available for the dealer to work with. Also you don't mention if you have a trade. If you do be aware the dealer will play the numbers game and give you what appears to be a great deal on the 2012 but make up for it by offering less than your trade in is worth.. Do your research on all fronts. Knowledge is power!

2013 TL awd
I just bought thursday a 2013 TL SH-AWD advanced package with 7 miles on it for $40500 with these accessories included and installed: Acura remote start, all season floor mats, trunk tray, and back seat cover. Hopes this gives you an idea what you should ask for. Id say 10k off

Years ago I bought an Audi that had been sitting in a dealership for a year. (It was when they had that false rumor about unintended acceleration.) Got a huge discount, and never had a problem with the car.
