I've been averaging about 14 mpg in the city and about 20 on the highway....I know, I'm kind of a lead-foot.

Hey, evocative, you been leaving quite a mark in the forum lately....good to see more and more fellow 4G owners coming out of the woodwork and contributing.

I drive about 85% city 15% highway. I'm averaging about 18.5-19.0. Until I hit about 1500 miles, I was getting somewhere between 15.5 and 16 but I was letting it rev higher when cruising to about 2500-3000 rpms but now I'm keeping the rev's lower under 2000 when possible and thats been helping the MPG's.

I expect the mpg to go up as the engine gets broken in. Still under 80 miles on it.

It's been like 5-6 years since I've last visited this place but I'm more than happy to contribute my knowledge of Hondas/Acuras.

I've got 20.5 mpg with a mostly suburban/rural commute. Not too many traffic lights and certainly no bumper to bumper headaches.

AWD stop/go/stop/go city - 17-18 put your foot in it a few times and you can quickly knock that down. what would really help this car - is if it could stop the engine when stopped at traffic lights -
haven't really done much highway yet to tell. (at least not a tank of all highway)
city is only 1 mile less than my 3G (AT)
My 3G would do 30+ on the highway - once 35mpg! don't think the 4G will do that.

People, set up your signature so you don't have to keep posting your info on what your driving!!!

I drive all city, stop and go on the fwy's, and been averaging 23.8 for about 8 refills to date. Also to note, I punch it every chance I get, especially going up on fwy onramps. I got 378 miles out of my last tank of gas, not bad actually. Is the 4g gas tank bigger than the 3G? And I love the gas cap area of the 4G, no more corrosion in the paint.

I am a failry conservative driver, but not afraid to get on it when needed. I drive abotu 300 miles a week, 200 is work, 20 miles each way on a 2-3 lane each way rural road that has 45MPH speed limt a a bunch of lights.
On my 3.2 07TL I would average about 22.5 each week on a tank. Strict 70MPH HWY not unual to get 28-30MPG.

My 2 08 Type-S were 21.5 then the second averaged better at 22.3 (but more HWY miles) it was not uncommon for me to get 21.5 essentially a 1MPG drop over the base TL. And on Strict 70 MPH HWY driving usually about 27MPG.

Now the SH-AWD I have only 1K miles on it, but so far it looks liek it will barely edg 20MPG in same average weekly drive and on the few HWY runs I have done it has been hard to keep it north of 25MPG, it usually is in the 24-25MPG.

I do track my mileage very accuratly using hand calculations so as this one breaks in we'll see and as I get a more average total. Historically I have never seen the MPG increase much after the first 2-3 tanks.

So facter in a 20 HP .2 litre increase and the drag of the SH-AWD system and a few hundred extra pounds and I would say the SH-AWD is not doing so bad. I as hoping to not loos so much sine the EPS gaisn back like .7MPG, but the drag of AWD is probably substantial. Funny the EPA rating on the car is 17/25 which I belevie my Type-S was 17/26

I only said that because I'm not sure about the numbers and back on the wiper post you made you didn't like "I believe" or "I think posts"
I think the 3G was about 16 gal? I know for a fact the 4G:

the Fuel Tank Capacity:
18.5 US gal (70liter ) Capacity:

3G tank was 17.1 if I recall correctly. One annoyance was the low fuel light woudl come on with like 3+ gallons still in the tank. 4G is 18.5, but have not noticed when the light comes on yet as I have filled up with 1/4 tank each time so far.

22 highway (75-80), 15 city, 19 mix. Which isn't bad considering I still follow my vtec motto "drive it like you're mad at it." That was when my D16Z6 screamed it's way to 8800rpm, music to my ears..

With 162 miles on the clock, 90% highway, I am getting 20.6 MPG. I expect that to increase some with time.

No, AWD. Flat terrain, 70-75 MPH on highway. It went from 19 when I picked it up with 92 miles on it last night and ended at 20.6 when I got out of the car this morning at the office.

I drive 20 miles each way on highway averaging around 70 mph the whole way every day. I drive about 480 miles per week. I have about 2800 miles on it so far. Have been averaging around 21 mpg for each tank of gas if I don't hot rod it...which I really like to do!!!... If I didn't "blow the soot" out regularly then I would like to think I could average around 23-24 mpg per tank...

I manually track all expenditures. I have found the on-board computer isn't all that accurate at times. Here is what I have experienced. (FWD Tech) -
Best tank: 26.32 - Road trip from Northern Va - Wilmington, NC - Mostly 75-85 mph - 441 miles on the odo.
Worst tank: 17.96 - To and from work - 40-60mph - 1800 miles on the odo.
General average: 21.78 mpg per tank.

I average about 20 on the highway and 16-15 in the city (AWD). A little different than my 3G. Thankfully, gas prices are down!

Just filled up this morning, the last MPG average was 21.6. Must be the mid-grade gas I put in it as last month I had a 23.8 average.

Boy the AWD sure needs a 6 or 6 SPD AUTO I noticed it revs higher before shifting than my 3G Type-S did, I gues from pulling the extra weight and drive train drag. My MPG is now averaging about 19.5 a solid 2-2.5+MPG below my 08 Type-S and I drive the AWD like a bigger wuss!

I will say I am about to give up caring what the MPG is becasue the car is just so damn much fun to drive and at least gas is cheap now...

Agreed.

Fun started since the test drive. The fun factor seems to over shadow the mileage as of late.

I'm unhappy with my mileage so far, the only problem I've got with the car. I've got about 1800 miles on it in the two months, and it's averaging in the 17-18 area. I don't drive much highway, but the old 3G averaged 23 MPG in the same mix of driving.

What I find interesting is the 08+ EPA numbers are supposed to reflect more accurate expectations, and the AWD was rated at 17 as was the 08 Type-S yet the AWD is getting me about 2.5 MPG less than the Type-S, but then over a year it will only be about $300-$500 more in gas and the car seems well worth it!

The reason.....bigger engine, bigger weight.

I'm at 17.5 with about 300miles. Picked her(AWD) up at 22miles, mostly city. About to fill her up for the first time today and debating which gas I should feed her... haha
