Polished Metal Metallic Painted Grill

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone on this forum has painted their Polished Metal Metallic grill or has some pictures of someone who has. I wasn't able to find any painted grills for PMM. I am debating between getting the grill painted or getting the Midnight Chrome kit. The OEM grill does not seem as offensive on PMM as it does on darker colors, so I may just stick with stock. What are your thoughts?

I have a dark color TL and a stock grill and it looks great. I tried a RJ color matched grill and it looked good but the car lost something. I reinstalled the stock grill and am perfectly happy. It seems that the grill controversy has calmed down a bit as people are getting used to the look.

I was the same as everybody else hated the thing at first but like it now. I hate neurotic car owners (myself included)

I'm going to be honest, I'm painting the stock grille, but that doesn't mean I dont like the stock grille, I just have that option to buy an extra grille and paint it. I actually do like the stock grille.

I like the OEM grill too and think it makes the car stand out, but I was just curious as to how the PMM would look with a painted grill. Anyone have Photoshop skills to help my curiosity out?

BTW... I just saw a stock grill go for $55 on eBay. Not sure if that was the minimum reserve the seller wanted, but heck of a deal!

I think it's a mistake to sell your OEM grill when you mod your grill. I think most people really like the OEM grill despite the fact that the painted and Ron Jon grills look good. I think the car will be worth more with the original grill at sale.

I found a used OEM in great shape to paint, bought a RJ and kept my original grill, changing grills takes a couple of hours if you do it correctly.

In the meantime I can play with changing grills as I wish and will be able to install the OEM when I upgrade cars. Despite the craziness, the OEM is my favorite.

None of these responses answer my question! Has anyone painted their PMM grill or have pictures of a PMM painted grill??

2010 TL SH-AWD Painted Grill

My 2010 TL SH-AWD PMM is currently in the body shop to have the grill painted. Pick it up tomorrow. Both pieces of the front grill are being done. I decided to leave the back strip alone mainly because I thought it helps break it up a little. I will post a photo within a few days.

looks like they did a very nice job on the color match, keep an eye on the beak, if not done correctly, it will chip.

Congrats my friend!

Not to be a hater or anything, but it looks like you have the Grigio not the PMM. I could be wrong and maybe it was the lighting or whatever. I like the color and the painted grill BTW.

I thought this was what the PMM looked like:

To the OP I think the PMM actually looks best with the OEM grill set up. Just my

The photos were taken at dusk so I can understand why it may look like the Grigio. I will get it washed up and take some better photos this weekend so people have a better idea of what it looks like.

I also like the Palladium Metallic and also the Black with the OEM grille.

Hey, it seems that the pictures aren't working anymore. Could you re-up them or re-link them? Dying to see them!!! Thanks!

EDIT: NEVER MIND, COPY/PASTED THE LINK AND IT WORKED!

Looks really good! I have CBP and love it, but I just got a little jealous looking at yours all washed up in the sun with that painted grill. Well done.

It's absolutely jarring how much hotter polished metal looks in the sun.

Good work!

That looks very good. I like the color match much more. The OEM grill is alittle too flashy for me personally.
