Picking Up My TL Tomorrow Morning, Any Suggestions On What I Should Ask Or Check For?

I want them to link up my phone and show me how to transfer the phone book into the car, I want to hook up my ipod and see how that all works and I want them to switch the nav display to show the car always 'head's up' instead on North up as I think may be the default. Anything with how the smart key should be programmed? I'll be the only driver. Oh, and I want them to double chect that they reset the tire pressure to the recommended levels because I know they ship them overinflated.

Any other "pre-drive off" suggestions?

PS I can't wait!!!!

Before I took delivery of my TL I read this Azine sticky. I'm glad that I did. I went through it point by point. I'm lucky that my wife and my salesman were willing to indulge my "anal rententive" tendencies. I would seriously recommend that you follow these suggestions as closely as you possibly can...

Make sure they haven't left the steering column housing underneath your brake pad!!! LOL, JK. Regarding the smart keys, my dealer would not program another Driver 1 key so I would have a backup? The rest of the stuff you mention is just settings and is all covered in the manual. To be honest with you, I suggest to do it yourself like most of us do. The salesmen and service guys don't know as much as we do. It's a job for them, and most of them don't drive a 4G every day. You'll learn so much more and if you got issues after making attempts, post it here.

Very excited for you, tell them not to wash it either unless they use qualified washing techniques! Oh, the above is an excellent read and raises some great points, but it's not like the dealer is going anywhere should something arise?

Why not just do all that yourself? Then you know it's done right.

Suggestions

Just got mine on Saturday
Most of the salesmen are clueless; they need the sercvice guys to explain technology.
HFL is very tricky; not like my '05TL; Voice commands, & Navigation commands are too many to comprehend immediately.
CHECK your TIRE PRESSURE! Most dealers put in 40lbs./psi, to prevent flatspotting. Mine had 36psi; still too stiff for me.
Good luck! Great choice.
Best car stereo you'll ever hear
DVD Audio, ROCKS!

check for an engine. LOL!!!!! you need that. JK.

You need to be anal about it bcuz as soon as you leave they claim to not be responsible for things like scratches and dents. Other features are covered by warranty so everything else is pretty much owed to you by your contract.

I have an 03 TL-S and the warranty coverd my ballast and ignitor that went bad on me due to moisture back in november. who would have thought that was covered. Good Luck.
