Picked up the 4g
I trade my 07 tl type S for 2009 TL. I missed the typeS but this car is more luxury and drives like a dream. I didnt like the car in the begining. But once i road tested it and i felt the difference. I end up trading it.

Another one has "seen the light!" Congrats and welcome to the "club." I'm sure you'll get some flak from 3G owners (esp. 3G Type S owners) out there, but I know you'll agree with me that it'll take some time before the 4G gains much greater acceptance around here.....it WILL happen sooner or later (sooner I hope). It's funny how so many here are so quick to dismiss the 4G based solely on pics and photos....little do they know how good the 4G really is once they take it for a spin.

Congratulations amer. Interesting observations too. My dealership is having an Open House tonight to introduct the new TL. They are having a drawing for a free one year lease. Plus, you can test drive the new TL too. I'm anxious to "take it around the block".

Finally saw the 4G TL in the flesh. Had to drop off my wife's MDX for service and saw it in the showroom.
All I can say is that pictures don't do the car justice. The front looks fine and its a beautiful car inside and out.
BTW, the new TSX is pretty damn big all around, never noticed that before....
Good Luck with the new ride, I'm sure you will love it !

Congratulations!!! Yes, I agree with static808 that the photos really do not do this car any justice! It is so much better in real life.
So, where are the photos!? What color combo did you get? Can't wait to see them!

Guys, I got to see the new TL up close at the Open House tonight. Plus, I got to drive both the Base TL and the Tech TL. I felt the most impressive part of this car is the XM Weather aspect of the Nav Screen along with the Hard Disc Drive (HDD). The weather radar is VERY cool. But when I got back into my 2007 Type S, I looked at my Nav Screen and felt as though my screen was bigger than the 2009's. Maybe because the 3G screen is closer to the driver. The 2009 screen is set back into the center console, which makes it seem smaller. I also wish it was still a touch screen in the 2009. I know most people like hard drives now, but I'm old school. Since I'm a radio disc jockey, I still buy CD's and do not download music.
There was a black Base TL with the black colored nose shield. Painting the nose saves the looks of the car and makes it look better than the current existing nose. As in other 4G posts, it seems like some dealerships are now altering the nose by painting the nose shield, which saves the looks of the TL.
It also had the aero kit on it with Acura aftermarket wheels. The aero kit seemed to be "bolt on" or Snap-On Tools type pieces. The kit did help but seemed to looked like it was stuck onto the car.

Thanks everyone.
Like i said love the 3g type s and missed it. But in this car i feel like i am in the benz S class or lexus LS. I see this car so luxury. i took it on the highway and it just flots on the road and at the same time handles good for the big body.

I was tempted with the 3G because the dealer was knocking off almost 7k and offering 0% for 36 mo and 2.9 up to 60 mo. They had to really boost the incentives because the new TSX Tech was cutting into 3G sales because of the new technology and lower price.

AVB for President!
I saw the TL in person today and I must say that the complaints about the grill is a bit overstated. Sure its bigger than what we're used to, but it really does not stand out as much as people say. It really is a beautful car and I give props to Acura for being more futuristic than what's commonly out there among the competition. It will serve them well.

What did they giveyou for your TL-s. I was going to trade mine in for lexus gs350 but is holding off to see what the sh-awd does first. I have my car paid off and they would have to give me a good deal to get payments agian

All the deep discounts and Acura $3K rebates hurt resale right now, I suspet when the 08's are gone and the only choices is a $39K 4G Tech or a 08 slightly used for say $32K we might have a better chance

I test drove the new TL earlier tonight, pretty sweet. The front grill is not that bad as others claim, and I actually like the back after all! The side profile is better with side door stop panels, it breaks up long door lines which look odd without them, for me. The stock rims that were on it are not very flattering, a change must be made there, plus 50 profile tires are way to high, it makes it look like a Accord. MY 05' TL had 45's?
As with my 05' TL, I'm impressed with the inside more than the outside. The performance feels much better behind the wheel than my friends BMW 528i with plenty of torque uphill too with the AC on! There's a smaller steering wheel with great paddle shifters, nice illumination throughout the interior, it's just really smart. The sound system does still not provide enough bottom end. It doesn't need to boom, but it should handle 120hz or below well much better. However, adding the HDD and multiple adapters for MP3 media is very cool. The salesman didn't know what the format is for storing in the TL, anyone know? I wonder if you can set the format? AIFF, WMW, WAV or mp3? I'd rather have 300 quality songs stored than 3000 mp3's!
I can't wait to drive the TL AWD! Anyway, I dig it! Stop the hate and congratulate the new TL, it's sweet, and let's start the modifying!
