Which OEM lip kit matches the best?
So as I contemplate a 4G SH-AWD Tech, I see that the lip kit really doesn't seem like a great match on some colors. I'm thinking the camera might intensify it, but still, the difference is there.
Can you guys comment on which color lip kit(s) match the body the best?

I have an OEM silver lip on my pre-facelift car and there is zero colour difference.

The color match is always good on OEM parts the issue is that it looks like an extra stick on that was an afterthought. The thing you are seeing is the line that the kit leaves on the rear & front bumpers after the kit is attached.
Look to Ron Jon kit for front and just don't add the rear. Any quality body shop can match the color (that's their job) and if it doesn't match they don't get paid!
The Ron Jon front fits 12 and later with a slight trimming of the tabs and most likely you'll have the shop install the kit just have them trim the tabs, paint the lip and install, done!
My two cents

Yeah, white and silver are the two I've seen issues on. Black is what I figured would match best. There is actually a black one for sale near me with the diamond cut wheels and lip kit on it, but its a little more than I was looking to spend. But the lip kit on there already saves me money, so there is that. Hmm...lots to consider...

Black is the color that hides everything.

Black IMO hides details and body lines to an extent, I don't think Edwards meant it hid dirt or swirls.
I really do like black on this car, but I told myself I wouldn't get another black car after my 05 TL. Them again, I've gotten much more into detailing and could do a better job of hiding/removing/preventing swirls than I did back then.
Another question - how does the paint on the front bumper hold up on these cars? My 05 was covered with tiny chips up front by the time it hit about 80,000 miles. Is the paint on these any more durable?

I know. Black is the color that is hardest to keep clean.
But I was only referring to the title of this thread : the OEM aero lip kit.
Black color aero kit will hide all the color mismatch, while white color aero kit will amplifier any slight color mismatch.

buy awd tech without all the extras in black... seperately buy the lip kit.. get different wheels.. problem solved.. dont need to buy a loaded tl when you can pretty much do all the things yourself without paying a premium

The reasons to consider the black one I mentioned are the lip kit already on there, its already nicely tinted, plus it is an '11 instead of the '10s I've been looking at, and it only has 14,000 miles on it. The wheels so t mean anything to me, I don't even know that I like them anymore than the standard awd wheels.
