Noticed something with my oil burner 3.7L
I barely used any oil in the last 3,000 miles. Here is the only thing I've been doing different. I've been keeping the rpms under 3k. Normal take offs No hard launch or long rpm pulls), 85mph highway driving. Never once getting into the VTEC. (5spd auto runs at 2500rpm @85mph on highway)
I need someone else with the same consumption issues to verify.
Though it sucks to right lane it and have middle age soccer moms in Sorentos pass you. I think I might have an idea.

Where you downing the pedal moving around slower traffic? I've been granny-ing the car for the past three weeks now and my oil level on the dip stick has been dead nuts full.

Highway driving burns of fuel and moisture that may be in the oil thus making it appear it's burning more oil when it's really not. Porsche has a line similar to this in it's owner manuals.
3.7's tend not to burn oil for the first 2-3k miles after an oil change and then it increases. Theory is oil is shearing rapidly and the burning starts after the oil has been broken down.

Driving your sport sedan like a mini-van to keep oil consumption down? Sucks.
Speaking of sucking:
I here they are bringing back the Pacifica (as a mini-van) to compete with the Odyssey...comes with a vaccume standard.
