No more "forged silver" color for Canadian TL's
For Canada, the unpopular "forged silver metallic" color has been discontinued for all 2012 TL's. It is replaced by a true silver color - "alabaster silver".
And also, starting in September, all new Acura vehicles will include a 25-month complimentary maintenance plan. As for leasing, there will be a $1000 factory rebate as well.
For those Canadians who have waited long for their TL's until now, it's well worth the wait.

Since it is technically September now, I should push for this.
Cheers,

Is the 25 month maintenance just for our Canadian friends? US doesn't get it?

There is still a severe lack of 2012 TL's for the dealerships. Only two silver TL's arrived and only one of them is the Elite.
Double-check with your dealership, but I believe if you sign off the final paperwork and drive the new Acura off the dealership this Sat., you'll automatically get the 25-month complimentary maintenance plan, since the car will be officially sold in Sept.

Don't feel too bad, it's only for leases (and only a limited time "anniversary" promotion): http://money.ca/money/professional-s...tion-campaign/

Over this celebration period, which runs until the 25th anniversary date of February 14, 2012, all 2012 Acura models sold will include a special 25-month lease at 0.25% with 25-month complimentary maintenance.

To make things worst, a 25 months lease......Arghhhh For aguy who likes to trade car like he changes underwear, this offer is even more appealing. For all female members here, please note that I DO change my underwear more often than every 25 months *lol*

But the same information is very clear in the Acura.ca main page.
It says :

Thats so very true! When the dollar was low, we were told that was the reason, now that our dollar is higher, we are being told its because our market share is not as big. Let me ask you this, why are we getting shafted with the smaller Tim Horton Cup size while the Americans get the bigger size for cheaper. Now I know there is a trial period where they are exploring the bigger cup here in Canada but we should be getting it regardless. The money factor can't apply, the market share can't apply either....No one drinks more Tim Horton's coffee than Canadian. I am telling you, we are a very passive society up here in Canada!

One really bad thing about a new color is that color-matching accessories for the new color will take ages (=months) to come in.
I have also ordered the full aero kit with the new-silver-colored car; but was told, a couple days ago, that the color-matching kit won't be manufactured until mid-Jan of 2012.
This means that I have to drive my new car out of the dealership without the kit, and have to come back to have the kit installed 4 months later when the kit becomes available from the factory.
The Japanese earthquake has really screwed everything up for Honda real bad !

Nissan has been one of the better brands with the dollar difference. When I bought my 09 Nissan Frontier new, I compared it option to option and it was actually cheaper in Canada (with the cash promo). Altima was pretty close too, when you actually compare the spec sheet. We tend to get additionals like immobilizers though on ever trim since they're mandatory.
Moreover, in Canada we tend to have better financing deals. Mazda as been doing 0% for 60 months for years now, yet the US has just seen these recently. Same with Ford. (I think)
Honda Canada tried to address the price gap by offering a TSX with cloth seats and deleted options, but that only fooled a few people. The price of the 2012 Civic Si has finally come down abit. I remember it was 21k in the US and 27k in Canada (with no Nav) and our dollar was above par.

However since we paid cash and didn't take advantage of the .25% Acura financing, we received the $3,000 factory credit because of the Tech package.

There is no paperwork to sign to activate the CM, and you don't need to do anything.
Check with your service department. Their computer should indicate that your car will have the CM.

The 25-month complimentary maintenance (CM) is automatically activated when you bought or leased the 2012 TL.
