Nice to be here

hey guys, I just traded in my 2009 g37x with the premium package and navi for a 2012 black tl sh-awd with the umber interior and the advance package. Both beautiful cars, but there is a reason Im here lol.. Anyways, I hope to learn a lot from you and hope to give my opinions and views as well

Thanks! I too have had honda and acura products in the past, and I have loved all of them. I had a 97 integra, a 2002 civic, and a 2001 s2000. They were all fantastic vehicles. I go through cars pretty quickly, but since my wife is due in june (with our first), I had one last shot at buying a new car without getting remorse from the wifey. I hope this car lasts a long time as i found it with only 8,800 miles on in!

No prob. I purchased a 2012 black tl with umber interior with the advance package. It had only 8,800 miles when i got it. Its in perfect condition! I got it for $33,800. When i looked on cars.com, it was one of the best deals in a 500 mile radius of Minneapolis. Plus, i loved the interior and it was very hard to find that color combo

Sounds like an excellent find! You should enjoy the car both as a solo driver and with a growing family.

That's a really awesome deal, congrats on the purchase. Having had a 4G with ebony and now with umber I highly recommend you stay on top of your leathers condition; clean & condition often.

Meguairs ultimate products worked poorly on umber, I'm currently using Lenox and plan to do a heavy leatherique treatment once it gets hot.

Sorry....i forgot to mention that it is also a sh-awd in that price! The car is so sound and beautiful....the only thing i have to get used to is that it rides pretty harsh with the 19 inch rims with the 245/40 tires.

Welcome and congratulations on the new car! How was the suspension/wheel setup on your G37? Wondering how the ride was compared to the 19" 245/40 setup that came with your 4G. I've read a couple of reviews from owners saying the 4G is a little rough of a ride, but I think it's far from it. Although I did come from a 3G with Aspec suspension installed, but that was like driving on air compared to when I had Megan coilovers installed on my 3G. Regardless, enjoy! Any plans to mod?

Thank you! My g37x had 17 inch rims with 225/55 series tires. Look like balloons compared to my tl lol. The ride on the infiniti was a lot softer and less aggressive. I didnt feel the bumps nearly as much on these massive craters our blessed winter has provided us Minnesotans. I haven't got on the tl yet for aggressive driving, so im excited when the roads clear up. i cant wait to get that feed back from the sh-awd, and Im really curious to see what it feels like

It's going to be strange at first when to drive it aggressively on turns. SH-AWD really whips you around turns and handles best when you do counter intuitive stuff, such as accelerating on turns. During spirited driving when I'm coming into a bend I let of the gas (not brake) at the turn in point, immediately accelerate again afterwards but before you hit the apex and continue doing so all the way out. Normally you'd be braking before turn in, until you reach the apex and accelerate out.

I don't have any track time on either of my TL's, but prior to driving SH-AWD I was taught you either need to be braking or accelerating to get a fast lap time; I think my SH-AWD method would work nicely as well.
