Newb saying hi!

Greetings,

Took delivery of my 12 TL Tech in grey yesterday, and found this forum. Still trying to familiarize myself with the car, and this forum as you can imagine so I thought I would just introduce myself.

Live in the great white north London Ontario area, just about 1 1/2 hours from Detroit, and I traded in my 2010 TSX Premium with 95,000 kms. Absolutely no issues with the TSX and hope for more of the same from the TL.

Looking forward to sharing notes, and experience.

All the best,

Mugz

Mugszy....Congrat my fella Canadian Acurazine member! I too had a TSX (2009) and traded it for my 2012 TL and never regretted it! My TSX was solid and no squeeks and rattle (except the rear shelf) ...Now my TL has the dreaded sunroof "ticking" which I will need to get solved. It is not a big issue but annoying as hell...sure you will know I am talking about in a few month *lol* I still don't regret my TL one second!! Such a great handling car!!

Thank you,

Thanks guys, have allways owned MT's so I hope I will not be regreting the AT.

My first impression comes with high marks of course but that's only for the first 100 miles, but if all that I've heard and read are any where near correct, then I know this will be a great scoot.

I've purchased the 3M film to protect the nose but wonder how good an install I can do.

At the risk of sounding frugal, is the 91 octane a must? Gas ain't cheap allready.

Any other suggestions, tips?

mugszy....Please don't skimp out on high octane. At 6 cents a litre (difference) X 60 litre (you will never be fully empty), we are talking 3.60$ a tank. Please don't risk doing any damage for trying to save $4 a tank (X4 tank a month = 16$) Cut back on Timmies if you have to

Hey weather, thanks for the good wishes...

Interested to know where you get your gas, I'm looking at around $0.20/litre but I hear you. Just trying to get TL adjusted.

Best from southern Ontario...

6 cents/litre. Wow, you're lucky. Here in SW Ontario we pay 14+ cents/litre more for 91 octane. A good read from the Globe and Mail: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe...rticle2418078/

But Gas prices notwithstanding, Welcome Mugszy and enjoy your new 2012 TL.

Congratulations on the new car! I doubt you'll regret going AT, for all the MT hoopla out there. I rowed my own for many years, but am recently thankful to give that up for a super-sophisticated TL AT. Now, the many times I've wished I didn't have to clutch-and-shift (can you say traffic? hills in the rain?) are gone!

Enjoy the ride.

Welcome!!! I live in Kitchener, just a stone throws away from you! And don't cheap out on gas, i know it's about $0.20/L more, but personally i wouldn't risk it. I always acually use Ultra 94 from Petro Canada. And i can actually feel a difference between 91 & 94. Car runs nice and peppy on Ultra 94. More responsive, and fuel economy is actually better than 91 octane. For me, i think it's money well spent.
