Hey guys I just bought this 4th gen 2011 palladium metallic silver TL.

I am posting this thread to introduce myself and also get an idea of what steps I should take to make my car look amazing! Just not sure what to do first.

I live in FL so the first thing I plan on doing is limo tinting the whole thing (except windshield). Wasn't sure if I should tint the head lights or not.

After that I am not sure what approach I should take. Obviously I know that making my car look like it should be in a show room takes big bucks and hopefully one day I can do that. But as of now I am a college kid that works full time and pays his own bills so essentially the show room is not in the near future. However I do have about $1000 to start with after the tint job.

So basically Iam looking for pointers on what to do first and the best way to do things? Also how do I post pictures?

I pretty much have all that covered except the JDM badge. Where would I find that?

After all that what direction would you go? I was thinking lowering (not to much though)

Modding is pretty personal.
thats one of the reason why these guys are giving you fake answers.

you're going to need to figure out YOUR own GOALS for the car.
What do you think the car needs improvement on?
like anything in life, you need a goal.
if no goal, and you slap on silly ass parts, you'll look silly.

Does the car need tint?
does it need a better sound system?
Do you want to lower it?
if shawd, the first thing I would get is sticky performance summer tires.

you need an end goal.
kinda like a college plan. you know, you set out to be a doctor and you'll take steps to achieve that.
same thing with the car, so instead of asking a broad ass question, you can browse acurazine and look at all the hawt 4G TL's and pick up ideas that YOU want to do.

they've pretty much done it all.
from lowering to adding rims, to sound systems, to performance parts to whatever the heck you are thinking...but you need an end goal.

/rant.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase. Other than tint (which to me is pretty much a must in our heat) everything else is up to your personal discretion. It's your car - do to it what makes you feel good about driving it!

I like to call it "personalizing" the car. I didn't do much to my TL other than painting the grille and tinting. I did add a roof spoiler just before the last round of stuff happened.

If you don't already have it on the car, get the aero body kit.

I concur with Edward. It really transforms the 4G. It will look more aggressive. And you have just enough money to buy it and install it yourself. Add another 100 or so to your budget, and you can get lower springs (Get the Tein H-Techs). Your car will look dope, still keep the stock look and most importantly not tacky at all. You will soon be able to pick up college girls and find plenty of friends with benefits...Congrats and GL w/ the mods!

I would actually suggest wheels before the aero kit, or if you dont already have it the oem spoiler.

Thanks a lot guys I appreciate the help

Sorry to sound so inexperienced but this is my first time modding a car and I want to make sure I do it right.

Like I said before tinting the car is going to be the first thing I do.

Next I would like to focus on either Lowering, Body Kit, or Wheels. Not sure what order though.

Also How do I post pictures? I emailed them from my phone and saved them to my computer but from there Iam lost. I would like to upload pictures so you guys can see what Iam working with.

be ready to shed thousands of dollars.. lowering (if your doing it the correct way) will cost about 1k.. and kit is about 900.. wheels is subjective.. lowering and kit alone is about 2k already.

someone suggested the Tein H-techs

It said they run for about 220

I take it that is not the correct way to lower and also what does the correct way entail besides the cost?

no, you can get springs!
however, it wont be low and probably still have wheel gap.

every one of my friends (ages ranging from 18-about30) have gotten springs first...
but guess what?
the need to go lower makes us do crazy things and buy coils.
so, I suggest going back over your goals.

What do you want your car to be like?
find your goals, and then modding will come easy.

again, Dont just throw parts at it, just to throw parts at it...

FIND YOUR DREAM 4G and Model your car after that.

Do you want to focus mainly on performance?
Do you not care about performance?
how about looks?
what do you want your car to look like?
this is all about you and nothing about us.
for example; people have thrown out the idea of getting the aero kit, but you dismissed them.

Browse acurazine and look at all the hawt 4Gs!!!!!

Use a site such as photobucket.com to store your pics then you can link them here using photobucket's link option

If they aren't then it's the link not set properly
