I just picked up a 12 BWP w/Tech with 29.5k miles and love it!

Not sure if I'll be doing any type of mods anytime soon since I purchased an extended warranty, not sure if anything will void it...

My question is it only came with 1 key fob, and like many others I've seen they wanted to get it another. I prefer not to go to the dealer and get taken for $250+, so I've done a little research but wanted to know if I could use a NEW ZDX key fob? or just scoop a used one off ebay and will it be programmable?

I'd just get a blank key for a used fob like that^ and have them cut it

and like others have mentioned it should be anywhere from $50-75 to reprogram right? I'm in TX if that matters.

Congrats! Sorry I can't answer your question on the smart key, but if you do find out that ZDX key works for the TL, I'd be interested to know. That seems like a great price for $90.

its cool, i still havent gotten a clear answer on whether or not a used already programmed fob can be reprogrammed to my car. I've read and searched through the forum and it seems to be a yes/no thing... my cousin knows a former acura mechanic but hes slacking on finding out for me if the ZDX will work.

 

Yeah, when I saw your link, I called two different Acura dealerships by me. One parts department said the ZDX smart key will work, the other said it won't. Go figure.

welp thanks for trying, I guess I should just start calling a random acura dealerships and take a tally lol, I only have one here in san antonio as big as this city is...

 

WOW just called my local dealership and they said the price to reprogram a key is $135 WTF, asked to see how much a new smart fob would cost and the parts guy wasn't there. My gosh, that's outrageous and really annoying since I only have 1 fob and need another -_-
