Hey guys, I just purchased an '09 TL SH-AWD Tech w/ HPT (white diamond pearl color <3) with 136k miles on it (139k now ) . One previous owner, perfect Carfax (even had the oil change badge).
Unfortunately I got one of the ones with the oil burning issue (which is how i found the forum); not sure how the previous owner didn't notice (or didn't care?). Fortunately though, the dealer I bought it from is an old family friend, and they are doing a piston and ring swap for free.
This isn't my first Acura/Honda. My first car was a '94 Integra LS, followed by a '95 Accord EX Coupe, and more recently an '02 MDX Touring. This is definitely an upgrade over any car I've owned previously though. Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself, and get my post count up.

Welcome!
Def post some pics of the new TL!
And I wouldn't dedicate a lot of time and stress to the oil consumption of the 3.7, what I did with mine is that instead of waiting for the oil change indicator, I would go get an oil change at 30% or 20% oil life
The car is a beast, enjoy that SH-AWD

Congratulations and welcome! If it's not on the Carfax report, make sure the 105k miles service (timing belt, waterpump, etc.) has been done. Also, make sure all fluids like transmission, transfer case, rear differential, and brake fluids has been replaced recently. If not, get it all done at the same time. Take good care of the car and it should last another 100k miles.
