I'm picking up my CBP 2012 TL this evening after work. I still don't like the look of the beak even though it's a lot smaller in the 2012 than the 2009-2011 so I'm looking to get it colored to match the rest of the car. I might also paint the rear trim as well, but maybe make that a different color (dark gray/matted?).

How is this normally done? Do people/shops usually take off the beak (and rear trim), paint them, and then put them back on or do they just paint it without removing it?

Would it be worth it to buy a second oem painted beak/rear trim and then swapping them out?

Contact him, I'm unsure if he has a core program for 12'+, but I know he does for 09-11'. I bought an extra set and had him do my 12' pieces.

That's actually very interesting. I live in Canada though so I'm not sure how it would work. How much did you end up paying for everything?

I bought a 2nd rear beak and had it painted, it wasn't a very expensive part if i recall... The front beak on the 12 is pretty small. you could even start by just getting it wrapped in 3m glossy black vinyl, given that it will take its fair share of rock chips and whatnot can always redo if it gets beat up.

I had my 09 CBP front beak painted and clear bra'ed by the dealer before i picked it up.

I paid 5. I had the front, rear beaks, the chrome around the front beak and the chrome by the fogs painted.
