need help sealing the deal

First off, Man, its been a while sience ive been around. I am going to buy a 09 tl, and am looking at two of them, one tech and one non tech.

From doing research on what most people paid, and research from truecar.com i am comming up with these numbers to offer...

Tl Base 31,500
Tl Tech 33,250

I know i wont get them for that, but know i can for around 32000, and 33700.

The dealership is at 32,500(base) , and 34,500 (tech) with their prices. They say they are losing over 2,100 even at those prices, how did you guys push them over the edge?

My dealership has 0 AWD's left, 7FWD with Tech and 3 base in inventory, and they cant order the '10 ones till these sell.

Gurr, i want to get this finished tonight ive been there 4 times and had about 8 phone conversations.

I wish there were more dealerships around, i remember when i helped my parents buy their 08 MDX the dealership made us jump through hoops for a week, and then finally broke down and took our offer.

Tried Edmund's TMV? I was able to get a little more off that price. Can't help you on those numbers as mine is AWD and I'm not familiar with the non-AWD prices.

I was able to pick up my 09 TL tech for 33.8K + TTL but 34.5K was what I offered from most dealers in my area. I think by now, the dealership should start budging as ppl have already reported on this forum of getting in the high 32s for TL techs.

I highly recommend getting tech pkg!

Good luck!

just a ? but does that price include all weather mats, trunk mat, wheel locks, and mud flaps?

Some dealers in seattle and mine here in spokane include it on all their cars. BTW they charge $577

How many dealers are in your area? How far are you willing to drive to get one? I recommend getting the Tech TL....worth every additional money. I emailed ten of the closest dealers to me, told them what options I wanted and got "internet quotes" from them. I then took the lowest quote to the closest dealer and told them to match or beat it. Of course they matched it and I could check their stock online so I know they have the color combination I wanted. I got my base tech tl a month ago for 33,700 with the options you mentioned above. I bought it without going to multiple dealers and without haggling for the price. After they told me they would match it, I made an appointment, test drove the car and signed the paperworks.
I'm not sure but I think the incentive back then was bigger than today which is weird because you would think that they want to get rid of the 09's. Make them compete with another dealer and hopefully you can get the price you want. Good luck!

I got window tinting, wheel locks and trunk mats for 33.8K. The "protection package" seems to be pretty damn popular with a lot of dealers i spoke with but a quick search on ebay basically says that theres like $200 or more profit in that $577. I highly suggest you find other dealers somehow, even if it means you might need to drive an hour to 2 away (I ended up driving about 3.5hrs to get my TL). Even if you want to stay local, if you get a better price, you can pit that dealer with your local dealer cuz your local dealer doesn't know that you're not willing to drive that far :P That should help get you some leverage.

They got to be ready to deal now - end of month, end of year - 2010s are in. Also if you are not fussy about color they will have some odd ball in their show room they want rid of - maybe with grill painted, body kit, not most popular color etc. How are you paying? If you are going to give them cash/check then they should come down even further. I got my loaded car $46,300 for $40,000. Bimples approach is also good

Oh man am i pissed at acura right now. We finally came to an agreement at a price of 34,195. I said ok, because i just want to get it done and over with, closest dealer is 5-6 hours drive away. Went in the back filled out all the paperwork about ready to sign the check, and the sales guy came in and said that it was his mistake and they cant take that for the car. We got up and said im done and walked out. This might be the last time i deal with acura again. We have bought new 4 cars from this dealership in the past. 99 CL, 02 TL, 04TL, 08 MDX and now this would be our 5th. Such bullshit. They try to dink around with us every time we get to the end of a deal. Gunna go check out lexus today, and call the dealerships over in seattle. Hell right now i would pay more to get the car over there so i dont have to deal with these yoohoos.

That kinda sucks, btu some dealers are holding a tougher line on prices now since sales are down they need to make their profit. As for LExus, at least in ATL my expierience has been Lexus is far more snobby and far less negotiable than Acura or Infiniti.

Go to another dealership. Why buy in town. My last car (before the 09TL) I bought in OH and I live in NC. I got a great deal. Same with the Acura I did not care which dealership as long as they did a deal.

Send me a PM. I'm just 90 miles South of you here in the inland Northwest. I've been thinking of coming up to talk with the dealer you are probably referring to. All I've done so far is requested an Internet quote for an '09 TL Tech. It came back at $37,316.
