Need help purchasing a TL (NYC AREA)

Hello all,

i been following this forum for a while now and i decided to go and purchase a 2011 TL. I went to the Paragon Acura in WoodSide queens and i got quoted for $42585 on TL SH AWD+ TECH for that price. i tried to ask discounts but they wont budge. i know that 2012 is coming out soon, so i believe that is not a reasonable price for 2011 TL. Do any of you guys who happened from NYC area know any other dealers with good prices on TL ?

Thanks, W

Does that price include all taxes, etc? If so it's not horrible, but if it doesn't that's way high. You should be able to score the car you're looking for in the 37K - 39K range.

I had very good luck dealing with Acura of Westchester in Larchmont, NY. My price with the full underbody skirts all around was under 39K for a '10 SH-AWD w/tech and tinted windows.

Cool

That is a rip off! I purchased my 2011 SH_AWD Tech at the end of January for $37,700 form Clinton Acura in NJ through their internet dept. There even went a got it for me from a dealer in Westchester Co., NY. That as when the had the incentives going. Go to their website a drop them an email, they are one of the few that will email you back a price and their prices are some of the best I have seen...I bought 2 TLs and an MDX through them.

In the NYC metro area should not be paying more than 37,100 for that model.
You should email all stealership in or near NYC and tell them what u want to pay
And the color u want and see what happens.

The now have $2500 dealer incentive..checked the price in AAA car Buying service and the prices in my area for a SH-AWD Tech range from 37300-37900. These are great deals. On the other hand Cars Direct is till trying to get around 39000 for the car

Go to Acura of Westchester in Larchmont. You will pay between 37-38K. Tell them you were referred by me...I can give you my personal info if you PM me.

By the way if you are in the market for a new TL why not wait for the 2012?

come to jersey, i had alot of luck with jacob at bridgefield acura, if you wanna stay in NY then do not, DO NOT pay a price you are unhappy with on this TL, the 2012s are coming SOON and they will have to dump all the 2011s, its a little early though, if you wait till june, you will get the price you want for sure

42585 is exactly MSRP and you should not be paying that unless you want to make that sales guy very happy. Invoice on the car is 39532 without destination. There is currently a $2500 rebate on all '11 TL. There is also $1500 loyalty cash but you have to be coming from a previous TL. Providing you dont want some hard to find stick shift like i do..........you should be paying at least 2k under invoice, dealer still makes $500 +3% holdback and everyone is happy. Figure to pay 37532 + 860 D&H and your taxes and DMV.
If your leasing......let me know and ill give u a ballpark on where you should be also.

Im a corporate finance and leasing manager for Honda and i know all the right people. If youre seriously interested PM me with exactly what u including color, trims and options and ill point you in the right direction.

Long time watcher...first time poster... I also got a similar deal at Valley Stream Acura in November 2010 - 38500 (pretax) for TL SH-AWD Tech with body kit, midnight chrome grill/trim, and body side molding. Ask for Rich, he's a good guy.

The reason that i go to paragon first is because i financed an accord coupe(new) from there last year. what i was going to do was trade in accord and get the TL. i got appraised 22k for it and the 22k would go towards the finance payment on the accord ( it is a 2010 model leather EXL v6 with 1743 miles on it, no scratches. although i think it is kind of low. KBB gave me a 23.4k) and was told the left over financed money would be added to TL. Here is the question, if i go to other dealer will they take care the financing and consolidate the finance money for me or am left with no choice but to deal at paragon.

Paragon is the worst. Stay the hell away from them. Anywho, dont forget to work your deal like 2 separate deals. Negotiate your price on the new car first, then negotiate your trade. Dont just pull numbers from the sky either, go prepared. When a dealer sees that youre an educated, informed consumer, they dont bother playing the games with you. Do your research and know what your trade is worth.......dealers go by a Galves book, not a KBB or anything else. Galves is always less that anything else because its pure wholesale. Like i said, new car should be 2000-2500 under invoice + tax and DMV. You should NEVER pay any bullshit fees that they make up either (especially paragon). Make sure your trade is at or slightly less than KBB since you wont have access to a Galves book. Also know your finance rates also......i think 1.9% is being offered now.
Knowledge is power my friend!!

I wouldn't buy from paragon even if the price is right. They backed out of a deal because they couldn't sucker me into buying their extended warranty, lojack, care pkg and all that. Try acura of brooklyn. Email the sales manager with a price your happy with. I got mine there last year smoothest transaction ever.

I think you should spend some more time researching before you pull the trigger on any deal.

Paragon didn't finance your coupe, it was probably honda financial services. Paragon can't offer you anything more than any other acura dealer.

If you go to truecar.com, you should get a quote of 37xxx in the NJ area -- and thats without any negotiation hassle. You can either take that offer, and then ask about the trade/financing as is; or you can try to use that truecar number to get a better number.

Either way, if you take the paragon deal, you're effectively paying 2500 over msrp. You've unnecessarily limited yourself to one dealer, and they know this, so they're going to screw you over if you buy from them

You can also sell the car yourself if you think you're being short changed on the tradein, although I htink the tradein offer was probably fair.

Off topic question, but if you barely drive the car, why do you want a new one?

I actually made the trip to Curry yesterday to look at trading my 09 FWD-Tech to an new '11 SH-AWD Tech. Salesman was very straight forward with me, asking my expectations for the deal, and then trying to get close to a number we both were comfortable with. And when I wasnt, he went back in and got even closer...Overall good experience, now I just have to decide whether to pull the trigger

the overall out of pocket, with tax is going to be $13,400 from a RBP '09 FWD Tech to a '11 AWD Palladium Tech. A little high, but I have 37k miles. Just was upset when they couldn't add anything for the Viper Autostart I JUST put in over the winter, or the tint/lojack I had dealer installed.

It was around 23 for the trade, and 37ish for the AWD, minus Acura Loyalty Incentives

How does the "$1500 loyalty cash" program work? I understand you must currently own a TL but are there any other requirements? ie: Must be financed thru the dealer, cash deal, etc?

You currently have to own a TL and provide proof of ownership thru registration with your name on it. It doesnt matter is u leased or financed or paid cash. As long as you have a currently registered TL.....its yours. Obviously dealers dont advertise it and most people dont even know it exists.

I am looking to sell my 2010 TL- SHAWD. It has about about 12K miles, Palladium metallic with ebony interior, chrome grille (back and front), and remote start.

I only use Premium gas.

I'm asking 32K..if you're interested let me know.

I bought it from Acura of Westchester and got a decent deal in Dec 2009.
