Miles to the tank
I am sure there are many different ways, but I use Trip A as my "tank" odometer. Each fill up has that trip reset. Trip B has not been reset yet and I have almost 10000 miles on the car. Then there is the car odometer to know the total miles. With this configuration you can also see your MPG over the tank (Trip A) and for all the miles the car has gone (Trip B) because even when you go over 10000 miles, the Trip B keeps on calculating the MPG.
Did I make sense?
