Hi I'm a owner of a new Acura TL 09 and i wish to have my rear and side windows tinted in the coming week's. My question is, will a metallic tint block the reception to the point that the nav system become unusable?

I know the manual said that a metallic film might block the reception so I'm looking for personal experience from Acura TL owner's.

The Nav antenna is in the dash not the antenna on the roof. I think the reference to the metallic film is for those that like to put a strip along the top of the windshield.

For what you are trying to do, I don't see any issue. Anyone else have more insight?

I have 30% LLumar metallic tint on rear, side windows and I have no problem using my bluetooth or nav.

I went with 30% all around but went with ceramic tint. Its under warranty and guaranteed to not interfere with signals. A little pricey but it also blocks a lot of the heat as well as light.
