Matching DRL & Fog

Hey guys I'm new to the forum, just bought a BLK 2009 Acura TL w/Tech.

I don't have much knowledge with upgrading cars, so I hope you guys can help.

I'm looking to get matching DRL & fog lights, whether it be HID or LED, if you guys can suggest or post pics, that would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS.

Go to the "search this forum" and type in DRL and youll get a plethora of information.

Drl and highbeam are the same. 9005 bulb if u want the halogen bulbs. 65W bulbs.

Fogs are H11 55w bulbs.

Only downside of going to hid or led is that even thou it may seem brighter to our eyes, when you use the highbeams, it may not be as effective in lighting your environment.

I recently got my 2009 4G aswell, palladium metallic SH-AWD, and ive spent plenty of time just seeing what combo of lights i like and what i wanna do, but still havent figured it out. I need highbeams, in the Central New Jersey area, deer are everywhere and need to spot em quick, but hids look waaay better as drl.

If you find a combo you like post pics for all us indecisive ppl.

Its hard to say. I the DRL typically has 35w which produces the yellow glow no matter what type of halogen bulb you have it in. I guess with the harness extension to hand the 55 to 65 watts would give you the white/HID look with damaging anything due to high heat. I would like to see these on an actual car. Not an advertised picture

i decided to go away from the xenon bulbs and im looking into HID kits for the fogs and the JDM LEDs for the DRLs. i also went and purchased the 6000k xenon for the projector low beams. figured with 6000k HIDs in the fog and Low Beams i might be able compensate for the highbeams not being bright.... live and learn i guess.

Yup, I have a HID kit in my fogs and its nice however, they look more blue than my HID headlights. I really hate the yellowish look of the DRL and I'm considering LED but I'm not sure if I will miss not having hi-beams. That is my only concern. The LED lights are not much brighter when on hi-beam.

Yeah the headlights are 4300k stock, i just purchased 6000k bulbs for the projectors aswell. companies dont use the same scale from what im aware of, but it shouldnt be too far off. i saw some pics on the JnC thread about clearing out the headlights, and with the angel eyes with the jdm led kit, looks amaaazing. definitely check em out. i was worried aswell about losing my hi beams, but like i said above, ive been testing em out, and the stocks arnt helping much either so i dont mindn taken the chance. the LEDS are 65 shipped.

Which LED's did you buy for your DRL? Also did you test them? How's the high beam function - don't want to lose that either.

Just bought sylvania silver star 9005s for the DRL hi beams. They are halogen, white light require no mods/ballasts/kits etc. simple solution

i was under the impression that since its a lower voltage when you have the DRLs on that they would look yellow no matter what, unless if you switch them out to LEDs or HIDs. Hi Beams i can see when fully powered them being a "white light"

yeah so basically we either have to upgrade to the LED kit or wait on KB1 for those Cree/SMD hybrid bulbs

where can i find more info on Cree/SMD hybrid bulbs. sounds like that maybe the winner. I'm assuming it will be led along with halogens for hi beams or something along those lines
