Looking at 2010 Tech ShAWD

I have 83 K on my 08 TLS, AT. I have never kept a car this long. The interior noise in my car is starting to bother me, also the suspension is getting a little old to me as well. I still love the car and continue to get looks and positive comments on it constantly. That being said, I saw a 2010 Tech Awd on line today with just 17 k mi on it, it's metallic white. When these cars first came out I hated them, I thought they were really ugly and bloated looking. For some unknown reason I find them really attractive looking now and wonder how the awd drive with the 305 horses will feel going down the road. I just read a ton of comments on the roughness of the ride in the awd TL's that I found disconcerting. I'm going to look at this car tomorrow and drive it on some less than perfect roads in the area to try and gauge the ride quality, I''ll let you know what I think. Bill C.

You need to drive the 4G, and try the AWD, I came from a Type-S to a 09 AWD TL and while the ride was firmer it was far more compliant than the Type-S. If you are not on very bumpy roads much you will probably be fine. Also you should try and hold out until you can geta 12 or newer as the 6AT improves MPG and also they made some NVH improvements.

Just got a 2010 and it rides like a performance car should. It does have a little stiffer ride but to me that's what I expected for the performance. I test drove a Lexus GS450 and that rode like a cream puff but no comparison to the AWD performance on the TL. This is not my daily driver so I wanted a ride that had the bells and whistles of a luxury style car along with a performance feel to it. There are some cars you drive and some you just ride in. The TL SH AWD you drive!!
