Just hit 1,000 miles on my TL and I am pretty surprised with the mileage

Prior to me changing my tires and air filter I was averaging 26mpg on my 08 3G TL during the summer. 85% HWY. Avg MPH I cant remember. I think it was around 34mph. There was definitely more traffic in the summer as I have to head down Garden State parkway south and for those of you that know the NJ area with the NJ shore traffic, it sucks.
However, I replaced the stock Michelin HX tires with Continental PureContact with EcoPlus and replaced the stock airfilter with a K&N drop in. I reset my trip computer when the tires were replaced on 11/9. 3,000 miles later I avg'd 26mpg again with 37mph avg and 85% highway.
I drive 80 miles per day round trip commute.
I'm guessing between the new tires and k&n filter I gained 1-2mpg. I averaged 26mpg in the summer but now the winter the air is colder and i use the remote start more yet im still averaging 26mpg during the past 1-2 months.

Good point about the cold weather. I was wondering why my mpg slowly dropped from 21.5 to 19.5.... Warming car in morning, snow and holiday traffic. I also have two large hills to my house. I'm averaging 26 mph, about 50/50 hwy/city commute. Only had the car 3 months. First few hundred miles were all highway. That explains it.

Right now im averaging 25mpg, avg 36mph, over the past 400 miles with 85% highway. The high temperatures here havent gone over 30 and the lows have been in the teens.
