Just Got The Call !!

I just received the most exciting phone call in quite some time...

My salesman just called to inform me that a truck just pulled up to the dealership with a sparkling new Mayan Bronze Metallic TL with my name on it !!

I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as I can. I think it will be the first MBM on here w/ Parchment interior. (As least that I have seen pictures of)

AHHHH Bad news.. Being that it is Sat. the service dept. closes at 2pm CST. Sales rep says that they will not be able to complete pre-delivery inspection before they close. Normally I honestly believe they would stay late and make it happen BUT being that it is Mardi Gras around these parts no luck.

I'm still going to all the paperwork and such today. They will put me in a loaner till Monday when I will go and pick it up.

Now time to make a decision on a plate???

Just got back from the dealership driving a 2010 TL BUT NOT MY MBM. It looked so pretty sitting there with the plastic still on the hood and trunk. I really wish I could have taken it home with my today but Monday is just around the corner. I did take a picture of the odometer with the fewest miles this beast will ever see.....

Nice! 000001 miles? You don't see that few on a new car often at all.

WOW 1 mile... INfiniti drives ALL cars 18 miles to make sure everything is perfect.
There is actully like a postcard in the glove box that has the techs name and how many miles he drove it in Japan before they shipped it.. I NEVER saw a new car with 1 mile and seen ALOT of new cars!

^^ Yea, i think there is a law in MA where all new cars need at least 13 miles on them... At least my last 3 new cars all at 13 when I got them, never below...

Paint Protection = Snake Oil.
--
I remember getting "Due Bills" for paint protection when I was a service writer and I would chuckle whenever I type in the information and check out the sucker that bought it.

No = they will not re paint your car.
No = they will not let you choose a detailer of your choice.
No = they will not refund your money back (easily), because its under contract.
No = They will not apply an actual protectant, it is merely "Show car shine (a.k.a. mop and glow).
Yes = they will try their best to persuade you that the additional $850 (i'm guessing) that you paid is a good value.
===

Just FYI, so that you're not surprised when the finance guy tells you all of this.

LOL!

The lowest I have ever seen was the '00 ITR I bought in December 1999.

The cars at that time were so hard to come by, and the dealer's representative had made such an Internet spectacle of it that they were afraid to let anybody drive it until I got there.

I still have that car...but it's track only now.

The pic was from when the car just came in, fresh off the truck. That's not the actual delivery mileage, as that would be next to impossible.

Congrats OP on the new car and the Saints super bowl victory. It doesn't get any better for you right now.

The delivery mileage was actually more like "3". The salesman drove like a mile down the road to tank me up and I drove off a happy Acura owner for the 2nd time. (I use to drive a RSX-S)

The Superbowl activities actually delayed the delivery of my car. I went to the dealership yesterday and VERY few folks showed up for work. Matter of fact the sales manager himself installed the splash guards after hours.

It rained on my way home so this weekend I'll clean her up nice and pretty and post pics ASAP. The MBM and Parchment make a beautiful combo.

TL miles

Wow just 3 miles! The TL that my daughter and I are looking at in Ft. Worth has 165 miles on it. Should I ask for more money off with that many miles?

This isn't true; I bought my TSX new in MA and it only had 8 miles on it. Plus, why would the state care how many miles were on the car and how could they even regulate that?

Yea, like I said, I was probably wrong... Maybe it's because you have to sign that odometer paper when you buy that made me think that...

Dang...and I was gonna tell you to make sure to NOT let them wash her. Not sure of your skill level but my dream is to one day get a car that has never been touched and THEN apply the two bucket method for keeping swirls off the paint.

Congrats...I fell in love with this color the second I saw it.
Mayan Bronze with the Umber interior in SH-AWD and 6 Speed has been calling my name. If it were 10K lower I'd be able to consider it but I'm not there yet.

Congrats and Enjoy!

Yea, the problem with that is that no matter what, you'll eventually get some swirls, the clear on these cars are sooo soft, it's going to happen. Mine was washed prior, but I told the dealer if there were any swirls they would be getting it detailed, it passed the halogen test at pickup, but after a brutal winter I am starting to see some very light swirling, nothing that some Menzerna won't fix.

To the OP: I can't wait to see some Pics! Congrats!

You can try but they probably won't. Mine has 265 miles since it was a trade with another dealer in the next state plus add on a few test drives, etc. It was the only color combo they had that was acceptable to me so I just bought it. After a few thousand miles you'll forget about it.

i bought mine new with about 7k miles on it, it was a dealer demo but the manager told me he was the one that put most of the miles on it (not quite sure if i believe him). I bought it the same day the 2010s came out so i think i got a pretty good deal on it plus it was the color combo i wanted and fully loaded with many accessories. do i wish i spend the little extra and got a "new" 2010?...kinda, but hey, im happy with my choice.

To everyone looking forward to viewing some pictures I will start a thread w/ a few high res shots of the new ride.

Mind you the first few will have been taken after a long ride home w/ some bug splatter on the front end. I'll wash her up and take a few better ones this weekend.

Congrats on the new purchase!!!
When I was shopping for mine, I had gone to a dealer who was selling a 2009 TL loaded with the nav, side skirts, & the 19" Diamond Cut wheels and it had 5,100 miles. They wanted $38,000 for it and it was originally $46,000. They wanted to sell it to me for $42,000. I said what kind of deal is that?
Went to another dealer and got a 2010 with SH-AWD with the 18" wheels with 49 miles on it for $40,000.
That other dealer still has that car on the lot 2+ months later.
