Just Curious

I was dealership(Valley Stream - NY) last thursday (5/21) and I saw a grey TL that had a dash cam. I like the size of the dash cam. If the guy is in this forum, can you tell me the model of the cam.

It diffinitely was not blackvue. It was a small square cam he had on his front wind shield.

Just thought I would give it a shot. Figure he might be part of this forum.

Nope...it was not that either.

it was square in shape but the edges were rounded off. it was nice and compact. I should have waited for the guy but i was in a rush.

lol the mini is kinda square if you squint.

honestly, those are the most popular. the blackvue's, the finevue's, and the Mini's 0805 and 0806

Are you sure it was even a camera?

Blackvue is one of the more popular ones for sure. And it's only 12cm long, it's incredibly small.

I know a lot of people like to push Blackvue on this forum, but Blackvue is a terrible choice for a dashcam. They're unreliable, just Google and you'll see. There are much better options for cheaper, and even better options if you want to spend the same amount as you would for a Blackvue.

I personally have a G1WH which cost ~50 bucks which records at 1080p. I'll take a picture to show you what it looks like mounted next time I have a moment.

If you want higher end, I'd look into FineVu.

It's none of the camera mentioned...oh well. I guess the guy is not part of the forum.

Since we are talking dash cams, what is a good camera to get for the rear view window. I dont want a camera with a screen, it should be compact and dont take up much room on the rear view window. Finally, it should have gps/mi built in.

Any recommendations?

I'm not really interested in customer support or firmware upgrades if the hardware is reliable and working. But I suppose you wouldn't need customer support and firmware upgrades unless there was a problem.

I have the G1WC which is the capacitor based model of this camera. I've had it for about 7 months and it's been great so far.
