Jumping ship - Goodbye Acura, hello Lexus
I decided to upgrade my Acura after my last two Acuras were not as carefree as expected.
2013 ILX Hybrid Tech - Bought new, was an electrical nightmare and had many different issues... Was constantly at the dealership
2010 TL Tech - Bought used, great car, but had several speakers blow out, both axle assemblies replaced, right side had to replaced 3 times in 10k miles (so on it's 4th axle assembly) and most recently, shocks/struts are going bad in addition to many suspension squeaks. Purchased at 87k, now at 135k. Spent about $5k in repairs for 48k miles/20 months.
New Car:
2014 Lexus GS350 AWD. Has 34k miles, Almost fully loaded ($58k MSRP, missing heated steering wheel) Lexus Certified warranty (bumper to bumper minus wear and tear items for 8 years and 1 month - warranty excludes almost nothing unexpected). Total OTD cost (including extended warranty, VA 4.15% tax, etc): $34237.23.
I might lurk around randomly as both the ILX and the TL are still in the family in suburbia where potholes don't exist.
I really did love the TL, but I didn't do my due diligence when purchasing so had more problems than expected. Did consider the new TLX, but the quality is subpar to Lexus (albeit, the TLX is competing more with the IS than the GS).

Hey if Lexus would have moved on the price on 2013 GS AWD I would have owned a Lexus instead of TL. Though if TLX comes out with sport or upgraded engine TLX or if Lexus RC has an 350hp coupe AWD. I will do a trade in. Grats

I just traded our MDX for a new Lexus
I just picked up a new Lexus for the wife. I kept the TL, got rid of the MDX. Ultimately, it came down to the crazy amount of rear seat space and two growing kids. I ended up with a LS460 AWD. Beautiful car, impeccable fit and finish and a dream to drive. Room for 4 so the family can all really stretch when we go places.

Congrats, great looking car, you're going to LOVE the Lexus.. Best of Luck!!
We had a white 15 with the same color interior as a loaner back in Sept when my wife's 15 RX F Sport was in for service.. Although it looks good in pics, that interior looks even better in person, it's gorgeous..

Thx thoiboi! Love the LS so far, but still enjoy driving the TL and the TL will be my daily driver for some time to come. Back to back, the Lexus wins many categories, but it costs twice as much so it had better. The TL handles better and is much easier to park in the city. We took the 460 back and forth to a mall about 60 miles away today with the kids and the LS is everything they say about it in the car magazines. Whisper silent, tons of space to stretch out in the back, and really isolates you from everything outside. I too enjoyed the original owner taking the 50% depreciation hit and the car has only 21,000 miles on it. Everything is like new.
What I'd like to know is how they get the rear seat measurements. My kids can put their legs straight out in the back seat despite specs "showing" less rear leg room in the LS than the TL. I actually test drove the 460L as I thought we'd need the additional leg room. We didn't. I'm 6'1" and fit very comfortably (can stretch my legs out a bit, knees nowhere near 90 degrees) behind the driver's seat when it is at my setting to drive. I have to assume they take the measurement with the driver's seat as far back as it can go. At that distance, I can't comfortably reach the steering wheel nor can I use the audio and climate controls properly. Strange things.

I wanted to like the TLX because I think it's a fantastic value... but it just feels cheap (even compared to the 4G TL). Although the TLX has grown on me a lot since I first drove it, going the GS route was the right thing for me I think (especially their unlimited mile warranty)

The 4G felt thinner than the 3G and the TLX feels/ sounds thinnest of all.
I also saw a lot of orange peel on the one I inspected. Maybe it was just my experience.

It's been over the year since I switched to Lexus GS but I do really miss Vtech engine to be honest. Lexus has a small lag when pushing even in Sport+ mode. Sometimes I do really want to go back to TL 6speed awd...
Congrats on upgrades guys...

Beatufiful car! They last a long time with hardly any issues as far as my family experienced. My brothers both have 2001 Lexus ES300 (300,000 miles on it) and my other brother has the '06 ES330 with 170k miles on it.
No issues with the motor. Some sensors needed to be replaced and the suspension as well but other than that, they're pretty solid cars. Toyota engineers are top notch.
My next car will be a Lexus IS-F. I'm a speedster. My previous car was a 500hp Mazdaspeed 6 (built motor/upgraded turbo etc...). I love my 2009 Acura RL though and I will be keeping it for a long time hopefully.

Hey man!
Been scouring the internet trying to find past bidders on my cars & bids posting. Any chance it was you that was bidding on my car late-last year? If so, shoot me an email at mcgee.conor@icloud.com
