THe DRL LED are holding up. No flickering or error message. I think 18SMD is good enough but the 64 SMD tends to be 10-15% brighter. So the cost of 18 and 64 are not much.

If you are going with CREE for the DRL, I would say it is useless. Because on the high beam housing you notice closely there is a cap or a shield in front of the bulb. The reason why is to prevent brightness on on coming traffic. Unless you take apart the headlamp housing and take out that cap then yes it is workable. I am in the process of doing that in a few weeks to clear my headlamp and also take out that cap in front of the high beam housing.

They are modding with a built in resistor to get rid of the hyper blinking. We tested on my car and when it signal, it was hyper blinking. So they are doing a new batch with a built in resistor.

If you are just using as a brake light or reverse light then you are ok. I tested them too and for the brake like is pretty bright and so is the reverse light.

Oh on the side note, I modded the signal with bright led strip and used a yellow tint film as well. So no need to mod the circuit board. Will put everything back up later this week.

when it was installed with hyper flashing, were you able to see how well the bulb luminated the turn signal?

No its too flash that you can't even see it blinking. To be honest, you have to get up close to see it blink that fast. So I told them its not going to work so they will mod it again.

Dang. hope they'll get it working soon.
Been really excited about this bulb lol.
I'm hoping it does a relatively good job of filling in the reflector [for day time].

You can mod the bulb with a resistor externally. Another word adding a resistor between the wiring instead of it build into the bulb. So there is another route you can go.

Yeah, I already have those resistors.
I have the CREE reverse and in the day time it's just a dot, I doubt the cree alone would shine nicely for the 3G front and rear turn signals.
But I didn't feel like purchasing the LEDs--cause if they didn't light up sufficiently than I'd have to return them. I didn't feel like spending 50 or so bucks on that 'maybe'.

I know there is this other type call elef LED. It's basically using CREE but the housing is different.

Yeah I've heard of those too. Sadly they only have amber and red.
Like you I'm going for that rich-yellow look.

For that just add a yellow tint film and should be ok since you are not going to have it on constantly so there is minimal heat build up

Precisely what I was thinking. Just looking for something really bright.
How did your vinyl hold up so far?
My buddy's [on his bmw's angel eyes] shrunk a little but it was good afterwards.
