I have seen a few other TLs around my area and they all seem to look shorter in the rear. So with a bit more effort to see why and I see they are without the plastic lip attached to the trailing edge of the trunk lid. It is not a wing, and it is not a spoiler. Whatever its' purpose is, I don't know, but it sure does make my car with it look a lot longer (and better). Does anyone else get the same delusion? I never would have thought just one piece of Pontiac plastic body molding could add as much as this piece seems too.

 

There is no aerodynamic benefit. Non-tech models do not have a rear spoiler/wing. The rear back-up camera and trunk release are located inside the bottom edge of the plastic.

I agree, I like the cleaner lines of the flat trunk better. But, I also like my back-up camera.

 

i assume youre talking about the deck lip. the TLs with the tech package comes with that from the factory, it houses the backup camera and trunk button.

I personally like it.

how do non-tech/advance folk open the trunk? keyfob or from the inside?
