I need help picking my color on a 2012.
I have decided to trade in my Maxima on a 2012 TL. The problem I am having is I really want silver but the dealer does not have one. He is willing to trade for one but he says the silver is more of a blue for the 2012. Does anyone know if that is true? Your help is greatly appreciated.

The new silver does have a bluish, purple-ish hue to it under certain lighting conditions. It is hard to appreciate the color if not seen in person.

If you were asking what color you should get, then I would agree with them ^ (or that dark grey color they now have.)

The Forged Silver is a GORGEOUS colour with a bluish hue. It's very lovely. Just look at this video - it's a very true representation of the Forged Silver colour:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ9ky...eature=related
Sometimes, the Forged Silver looks very much like steel grey (which is gorgeous) and sometimes it's like a pale metallic blue, which, IMHO, is just a beautiful. You will notice how this colour changes under the different lighting condition in this video.
I went with Graphite Luster Metallic myself, because I loved how it would show off the chrome trim. However, I am sure that it does not hide dirt as well as the Forged Silver! :-)
The Bellanova White Pearl is surprisingly beautiful too. Strangely enough, while the Mayan Bronze Metallic looked absolutely incredible with the 09-11 TL's, it looks kind of dull with the new grille and the toned down rear. I think that MBM looked way better with more metallic trim around the car.
If you are in the States, you have the choice of the red colour, too, which we do not have in Canada. Now, that is also unexpectedly gorgeous with the 2012! At least that is how it seems in the photos. Isn't it funny how this colour did not look so hot with the 09-11 TL's but now it looks great with the 2012?

i would go with Graphite and my second choice would be the BWP and i feel it give a very luxurious look.
If you want to look young-----Gray
if you want to look more mature------white
if you r women -------red

Oh, don't forget that I live in northern climates (OK, Calgary is much further north than NY! LOL), so it would take extra, extra work to keep this lady smokin!!! LOL

The "forged silver" color will change from a "metallic grey" color to a faint "light blue" color depending on the ambient lighting conditions. You really have to see it in person to like it or to hate it. You will not feel the full color change impact on videos and pictures.

Welcome to the forum! Lighter colors look cleaner longer so there is less maintenence involved. They also tend to minimize the impact of the front/rear chrome pieces although this is not as much an isue on the 12's as my 2010. Darker colors look great when clean but the problem is keeping them that way. My 2010 is White/Ebony so you know which way I lean. That being said, you can't go wrong with whatever color you get: after all, it's a TL!

Our family car (2005 Honda Accord, 2006 Acura MDX, 2001 Dodge Dakota, 2002 BMW 325ic, 2003 Honda Accord, 2010 Honda odyssey) are ALL SILVER!!! You can imagine our drive way when our family gets together. When I purchased my 2010 TL AWD Tech. I did not want silver but black interior more important (this is due to having 2 kids). After looking and searching I ended up buying White with Black interior. Could not be happier. My second choice would have been graphite with black interior. Again this is completely up to you.

sgt128...my main goal was to buy a 6 speed MT and so I only had 4 choices. I recently bought an FSM since it was the only one in the state. (can you believe that?) If i had to redo...i'd go for the graphite. It's not black, it's not white, it's just right. ;-)
All in all, I am really happy with my FSM because depending on how the sun hits it, it's like a new car.

I tried to work a deal with the Dayton area Acura dealer with no luck. So I'm headed to Cincy tomorrow to try and land a TL w/Tech in Graphite. Wish me luck!

I mean this with no offense to the Forged Silver owners, but this silver just seems like a color experiment gone wrong. Its a unique color for sure, but its not the familiar silver that most people would want. In certain lights, it almost looks like the Borealis Blue color that was offered on the 09-10 TLs.
And where's our regular blue, Acura? Royal Blue Pearl was one of the nicest colors available. Only was offered for one year- 2009. Very rare color.

^^^^^ The only good thing about this "forged silver" color is uniqueness.
I'm sure that there won't be many of this fancy chameleon colored TL ends up driving on the roads. So far in this forum, most have gone for the "graphite" colored 2012 TL's.
