I must say..

After getting a 09 TL as a loaner (My 04 was in for recall) it completley changed my view of the new 09's. I really did not like how it looked but after seeing it in person and driving the thing really changed things. I really want one now..

I must say that I'm impressed by those members who are willing to admit that once they saw and drove the '09 TL they changed their minds and now like the car.

Conversely, I'm not impressed by those members who continue to post bile about the '09 TL having never seen the car in-person nor having driven it.

Personally, I went from owning a G2 to a G4 TL, but had a G3 as a dealer loaner. IMO, The G4 is more of an evolution of the G2 than it is of the G3 so I can understand why G3 owners may find the G4 too radical a change and not to their liking.

However, opinions based solely on photos and magazine articles are superficial at best and open to being way off base.

Acura's have always been able to "grow" on the individual. No matter how different or bad it looks, it tends to be unique and groundbreaking - which people tend to learn and respect..at least most.

The SH-AWD is unstoppable in the snow. Take a little peek at the snow that Southwest Michigan has been getting for the last farking MONTH and see what I've had to deal with. There is more snow here than I've seen in years, yet the TL charges away from a stop like it was velcro on sandpaper. I knew it would be better than my 3G, but man... this thing rocks....

The interior in my worthless opinion is nicer and more polished than the 3G. The ride is spot-on in my book, firm but more comfortable than the 3G. Although mine is currently encrusted with gunk and looks like an Antarctic snowcat, I like it more each day.

The steering wheel and the seat bolstering in the SH-AWD is bad ass.

I still haven't gotten a good pic for the avatar though, which bugs me.

Actrite, that's a really awesome avatar you got there. Would make a SICK tattoo. I've been meaning to get a new one, but haven't been able to settle on anything. I think I might have just found it!!!

LOL Hydro, your crazy with Obama taking office, who knows what gonna happen to in the US, I'd wait a few months...LOL JK.

I think that's why so many of us got offended when people would bash the 4G TL, I guarantee MOST of them had not even seen it in person, OR driven it. I didn't like it when I saw the pics, but in person and after a test drive, it blew me away! Thanks for coming out the closet GIXXERDK!

Glad I did

I almost went over to the dark side and bought a Lexus without even looking at the TLs just based on all the crap (about how butt ugly it was) I read in this forum. The pictures only confirmed how ugly it was. But, since I really loved my 05 TL I figured I should at least see it in person and test drive it. Sure glad I did. One: it was not ugly - actually I liked the lines, Two: It drove better than my 05; Three: The cockpit was a technophile delight. Needless to say I bought one on the spot. I would have liked to by the AWD but they would not discount more than $500 whereas they discounted the FWD $1500. Purchased the Palladium Metallic fwd with tech pkg full underbody spoilers and front grill painted and have been happy since. Been driving for three weeks now and look at my 05 and find that it looks blah by comparison (just my perception).

Have you posted pix anywhere? I'd love to see how the spoilers look.

BTW, I was the same as you, didn't like the pictures but really liked the car after seeing it in person.

That is what I am finding calling all the local ATL dealers, hell there are only a dozen in stock in all ATL, but having bought so many 3g cars my dealer is going to do Invoice plus $425 (less $1000 dealer cash) so I get car for $39000, which is why I am so damn tempted to get it, such a steal right now.

I have to agree. I brought my 07 TL in for routine servicing and got an 09 TL loaner. Wow. What a great car. I wasn't expecting anything. But after spending over six hours with the car I'm really loving it and want one too. Even my wife got to drive it, loved it, and thought it was much more refined than our 07 TL (and she is not a car girl at all).

Wow...isn't it funny how bad people were thrashing this car based on it's looks? The actual driving experience puts everything else in it's price range to shame. In fact, I don't think I've seen or heard anyone that's actually driven the SH-AWD model bash the car. The car would be perfect if the beak was the same size as the TSX's.

No, I have not taken any pics yet.......I will once the weather warms up allowing me to wash it. The crap from the road salt and and sand took it's toll on the otherwise great looks of the TL. Tired of this weather! But you need to expect it here in New England
