How do I change the shift boot on the 6MT? Seems like for the 3rd gen you would need to pry off the trim on both left and right sides, same for the 4th gens?

 

Open the center console, then start by pulling up on the black rails/sides (these go underneath the ends of the silver trim), then pry the silver trim up, then there are two Phillips screws you will need to remove below the radio, remove the shift knob, then you can pull it up, do so slowly as the seat heaters and power outlet are still connected.
