how much did you spend to paint front & back .. any regrets?
Hi everyone, this is my first post and I just got my 1st Acura ... 2010 TL Tech, black on black. I bought it from Acura of Peoria, AZ. I got it for approx $35,400 (I traded in my 08' Infiniti G37S) .... I'm still in heaven that they were offering 60 months @ 0.9%.
I really want to paint my front and back grills black.
Just wondering if my fellow TL owners have painted theirs the dealer or private shops and how much you spent?
Also, based on all the great pictures I have found here ... I was going to paint the whole thing black .... has anyone had regrets after doing this?
Thanks in advance for your feedback!!!

My dealer wants twice what my preferred body shop will charge me to paint a RJ Grille. (And $200 more for window tint)

First off, Welcome to the forum . I had my grill painted couple days ago at a private body shop. i did not paint the rear. It was $200.00 to paint and install the grill. Here's a pic of how it looks painted.

I had mine painted two weeks ago all black like FYAH TL for $135 at a local body shop. I'm sorry I waited so long. I'm not afraid to approach the car from the front anymore. I looked at the various options and decided to go all black. Love it.

The grill is still "futuristic looking" and no longer obtrusive, yet "4G-ish."

I had my front grill complimentary painted by the body shop I bring my cars to when they fixed my rear bumper.
I didn't even really asked them. They wondered if they could do me a favor painting it for me.

I was talking to my body shop guy who has done Acuras for 20 years, and he was saying that he doesn't offer really any warranty on the work since the material isn't really meant to be painted? Not sure but he said he has already had one guy come back to have it redone

I had the dealer do mine as part of the purchase deal. This had the benefit of me not having to deal with it and them providing the bodyshop a grill to paint while my car had a grill and was usable. The disadvantage is that the dealer does mark-up the price somewhat.
I just did the buck-tooth. The result is in the gallery. I think a touch of the silver helps out the looks, similar to a BMW kidney-pair.

I had the dealer paint mine for $140.00 then I got it clear bra'd. I just had the beak done. I actually had the whole front of the car clear bra'd.
I think the whole grill looks better painted on dark cars.

I think that painting the front grill (and/or the rear) a great upgraded look for the 4G's....

That looks great. I am seriously looking at getting the midnight chrome grill, it looks good as well, much better than the stock.
