Sounds like you need to take a trip down to your local autoparts store and buy a set that includes a low profile jack (2-1/4ton) and a couple of 1/4ton stands. I bought a Craftsman set from Sears for around $80 on sale, but there are less expensive options out there like Harbor Frieght Tools.

As for the jack points I have never had the TL up off the ground, but on the RDX there are two good spots on each side plus one in the center of the front and rear. These are all detailed in your owners manual. I jack the center point (F or R) and then put the stands on the jack points on the side of the car. Then you can release the jack. If you want get the entire car off the ground then you need 4 jack stands.
