HIR1 High Beam upgrade
I finally got around to installing these Philips HIR1 9011 bulbs. I haven't driven the car yet, but the new bulbs are obviously whiter and brighter.
BTW, the old bulbs had some nasty brown blotchy crud on the inside of their lenses. I haven't seen that before with regular halogen bulbs.
The car is a 2010 TL SH-AWD 6M with 7800 miles. I'll add a comment when I have driven it at night a few times. Here's a pic with the HIR1 installed in the driver's side - right side of the pic. The OEM halogen bulb is in the other light.
Go to my Album for another pic and some info.

I thought the DRL/High Beam bulb size is 9005? I have Sylvania SilverStar 9005SU for mine.
And you're right, the stock bulb had some weird burnt looking brown spots inside them.

When making this bulb swap, use only a 9011 in place of a 9005, and only a 9012 in place of a 9006.

the base is similar, you just need to cut off one of the tabs and it will fit.
Personally, while they are brighter, they aren't significantly brighter so that i'd change them all the time. I did it for my civic and while it was noticeably brighter, don't expect it to blow your mind.
