HID fig lights won't kick on automatically every time

I just installed the slim ballast hid fog light kit from hidextra a week ago. While they are bright and pretty cool looking, in the morning they don't always kick on when the headlights kick on. I have it set to auto. I live in minnesota, so it's pretty cold in the morning. Can this be the issue? It happen again this afternoon after work. I had to turn the fogs off and them back on for them to kick on.

Has anyone had this issue? I am pretty sure I installed them correctly. It's very hard to mess the install up. It was very easy to install. Any help would be much appreciated.

Never use the auto function. Can't stand it when I go through shade/tunnels and it puts the NAV screen into night mode. There may be a relay involved that isn't kicking in.

I would also rather NOT have the fogs turn on when ever the headlights are on as there are times when driving with the fog lights on hurts visiability (such as rain spray on the freeway from truck tires).

Call them back and ask for the "extra".

They actually have great customer service. Reach out to them with your problem and see if they can help.

Also, take your lights off auto...it will prolong your HID bulbs.

not sure if it is related by sometimes only one of mine lights up. I think it has to do when you crank your car to start maybe not both ballasts get the full power or something.

I think Mr Marco is right,we need a relay or something to make sure they get the power to start up.

I'm having the same issue on my tsx

One fires up every time
one takes 2 or 3 times to come on

I've changed the bulbs, the ballasts, the relays

I think it must be the ground....I can't figure it out

I believe the ballast is as fault. It is my understanding that most of these aftermarket Hid kits are not of good quality. If 12 volts is sent to the Ballast then its the ballast that must produce the voltage needed to turn the lights on. If it were me, I would switch the ballast from one side to the other and there you will find your problem.
