help with TL SH-AWD
Hello all thinking of letting child take my 05TL[Still love the car] so hopefully great timing in effect here.. I found a 2009 TL sh-awd at a local quality used car dealer it looks showroom new and only has VERY low miles on it.
They have it listed at 14999. Is this a steal of a deal on a creampuff or are there any glaring issues with this model year to maybe be concerned it might be a lemon donut? If any issues , are there any areas to specifically take a hard look at? Thanks !

we could list all the potential issues that it may or may not have, except you have to treat the car as an individual, or case by case basis.
you could start by asking the dealer for it's carfax and use this as a tool to help you determine whether or not it's worthy for you.
Next, test drive it! you will know right off the bat if the car behaves any other way than the way it came from factory, as you have an 05! it should be a very familiar transition, except it's a big step up!
drive the car for longer than 30 mins. this will help weed out any problems that will occur in that individual car.
if a problem does indeed rear it's ugly head, it will be apparent in the 30 min or longer test drive. you will have bargaining power and or you may choose to skip that particular car all together.
Happy car shopping!
just to be realistic, it took me about 6 months and several cars to find my car, or shall I say she found me.

^what he said.
Also, bear in mind depreciation has been hitting the market hard and dealers will want to unload older models. A 2009 is quickly approaching 10 years old!. If it were me, assuming the Carfax is clean, you drove the car and feel good about it, the car was maintained, etc. I wouldn't hesitate.

2012 Acura TL SH-AWD TRANNY NOISE???
New to the site
I have just shy of 70,000 on my beautiful Acura, love the car been a long time Honda owner. The problem I have is at cold start and idle there is a slight knocking sound underneath the car, it disappears once warm and happens regardless of ambient temperature. The sound does not change when rpms are increased, the car drives, shifts fine with no noise, hesitation or vibration/shutter. To me it is in the transmission but not qualified or certain and concerned about taking it into dealer and they cannot reproduce the sound/issue. Has anyone had this experience with late model TL’s?
It literally sounds like ball bearings moving around, have kept the maintenance current, ie oil changes, trans and awd service at the dealer. Any help or insight is appreciated.
Thanks
Joe
