Total coincidence. I've been asking for a 4G GB in the 3G section where Tim frequents. I met Tim on the weekend to pickup some stuff from his place and once again asked him about the 4G GB.

$866 plus shipping on Bernardiparts.com right now - figure they're doing 25% margin to make it worth their time - so $216 of that is profit.
Figure $100 for appropriate ground shipping.
866 minus 216 = 650
$650 Cost PLUS $100 Shiping = $750
Add $50 per order profit to dealership = $800.
But that's all based on my 25% assumption...and that a dealer would do a group buy on a $650 order to only pocket $50.

Here is an auction for $775 with free shipping. The seller is from Acura of Peoria, same dealer as where you are from. Are you from a different department?

I like this part in paticular:
"The suggested retail price for all four pieces is $1180. Normally we would discount this kit to $885, but we are selling it at just over cost with FREE SHIPPING withing the 48 states!"
Normal discount = $885
Forum group buy offer = $909
Reinforcing confidence that the "stealership" moniker is generally an accurate one? Priceless.

Actually, I do see how. The auction isn't for every kit, it's for one kit, in polished metal metallic. I'm assuming that this is either written down, or overstock.
If they had discounted the kit normally to 885, the eBay guys at the dealership are within $20 of what I had mentioned. I just went in and calculated the price based on what I thought I could do, more or less.
The thread was a GB feeler thread, and not a price set in stone. I was asking for input on the price, not saying that WAS the price, and you guys did just that.
Okay, so I still look like an ass

Well Tim lets get aggressive and throw a great price out there and you will see the interest... That my opinion... I will not speak for the other members...

Just spoke with my boss. Here's the scoop.....
The kit that's on eBay now, we've had in stock since the initial pre-order for the 2009 MY. Because it was a discounted pre-order, we're able to pass on the savings to the customer....that, and the fact that it's been on the shelf since late 2008.
Apparently, there are a couple kits that are in stock that we can offer, maybe even at a better price than that. I'll be posting a list of those kits later today.
Which leaves us at the question of the Group Buy. How does $859.00 shipped sound?
