Unhappy Grill Painting Price

How much did you folks pay to get the WHOLE grill AND the back strip painted???? I was at the dealership today to finalize my deal and they had a TL with only the tooth of the front grill painted and they wanted $500 to do that!!!! That is highway robbery. Has anyone done this by themselves and if yes where did you get the matching paint and how much was it? Thanks guys!!

I bought the front grill insert separately from HeelToe Automotive and they painted it and applied the clear bra for around $250 total. I then swapped out my old grill insert and replaced it ith the new one.

My dealership wants $500 as well...

I take it you were satisfied with Healtoe's work? They claim it is done by a "local high end paint shop." Does it look like it is done by a local high end paint shop? Are the replacement parts equal in quality to the original ones?

Appreciate your feedback.

Thanks!

They did great work on the paint job....matches my CBP perfectly. The grill they sent me is the same as the original.

Hey Pete....have you posted that pic in your avi on here? I was looking for it and couldn't find it....Wife wants to see a darker TL with the grill paint scheme you have. I want to get our painted but obviously I have to have it approved...

Like I said in the other thread the stealership wanted $781 with tax to paint everything. At this point I said, just do it. Will be picking up the car a week from today.

No way would I pay $500 to have a grille painted. I would walk away from the deal unless they painted it, all it costs the dealer is time & materials.

I think I paid either $250 or $275 plus $50 for the clear bra. Do the clear bra. The front takes a beating. I was hit by a peice of tire carcass on I 95. It dinged the crap out of the beak. No damage to the beak itself, but it did chip off a dime sized paint chip. I did get it redone and added the clear bra. If it happens again, I will follow Pete's lead and order a replacement rather than mess with the locals.

I've painted a few parts and they def come out nice. It takes a few weeks to get it all finished but it is pretty worry-free for people.
