Goodbye 3G TL-S, hello '12 SH-AWD Advanced!
I had my '07 NBP TL-S for over 5 years...the longest I've ever owned a car. The reason is simple: it was a fantastic vehicle in all ways.
But all good things come to an end, and I made the decision to get a 2012 SH-AWD / Advanced TL in Graphite Luster Metallic, and the sadness of getting rid of the TL-S immediately went away when I drove the new one off the lot!
I just picked it up Monday of this week, but absolutely love this car!
I'm going to do a major new car-prep detailing article with this car (stay tuned), and it should be as popular as the detailing guide I wrote several years ago featuring a 3G TL (not mine).
After that I'll have some basic mods done (H&R springs, XPEL PPF on the front bumper, window tint), and then perhaps a big audio upgrade just like I did on my TL-S.
The dealership didn't have what I was looking for, and I specifically asked for one that still had the shipping plastic on it (I'm a professional detailer...I don't let anybody else touch / swirl-up my cars). Since they couldn't find one, they ordered one from the factory. It went into build, and then less than two weeks later it made the short 30 mile trip from the factory to my dealer and awaited my arrival. I love it when a plan comes together.
My article will have tons of HQ photos, but here's a quick shot I took yesterday in the meantime.

Congratz!
Graphite luster metallic is what I would have chosen if I were to get a 4G TL MMC. Reminds me of the Carbon Grey Pearl on my dearly missed 05 TSX

I've only had it for 4 days now, and find myself using both the blind spot warning and cooled seats quite a bit. When it gets hot out, I'll really enjoy the cooled seats!

Congratulations! The Graphic Luster Metallic was my first choice, but given the practically non-existent inventory, I had to settle for the black color. Oh well, I love it still. Can't wait to see what you're going to do with it, as I may get ideas for my new TL I got a day after you.

Yes Steven...it should be a good article for sure. It may take me a while though because I'm so backed up with Lamborghinis & Ferraris, not to mention my detailing school. I need to find a way to clone myself!

06 Anthracite TL
I have to be honest- I wasn't a fan of the 4G's until the 2012 came out. I really like the color you chose - it complements the car well- just a question- how much did you get in trade in on the TL-S? I'm only asking as my step daughter bought a Mazda CX-7 from a used car dealership 6 months ago and traded in on something more efficient (they depreciated the CX-7 by close to $7000 from the purchase price).
If my TL got wrecked I would get that color as well- very nice choice- good luck with it!

Gorgeaous car...congratulation...
Whoever says that the 3G was a better car compared to the 4G either:
1) Never rode/drove one
2) Cannot afford one
The funny thing is this kid while ago on the Car Talk section that kept repeating "3G > 4G" and he drives a Mazdaspeed3....go figure!!!
Again, enjoy your ride,

Post anything positive about, say the 4G TL/ZDX, and prepare to be flamed and attacked. But such designs as the polarizing Mazdaspeed3 grill or IMHO the funky Ford Fusion's grill are ok, of course....

To hang out with the clicky Car Talk crowd, one must subscribe to "facts" that: Acura's recent models have "lost it all," RWD>FWD, RWD w/proper shoes=>AWD in the snow, Manuals>automatics, keen edge design/grill is the ugliest of all recent auto designs, exterior design trumps over all other factors including historical reliability, Buick/Hyundai/Infiniti>Acura, and that Acura should design all of its products to the wants of the know-it-all "Car Talk enthusiasts" who make up a tremendously small percentage of auto sales.

Congrats. Looks fantastic!
That would be JS+MS3. Can't recall him ever providing anything constructive.
LOL! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Congrats on the upgrade!!!
I went from the '05 TL 6MT that I bought in '06 CPO to a '10 SH AWD 6mt that I bought in March of this year CPO. I have no regrets. the AWD is amazing and the family all fits fine, the extra almost 2 inches of rear passenger leg room makes my daughter very happy.
We went from the Fort Lauderdale Area to Sarasota for a family event over the weekend and no one complained about space....
Enjoy the car !!!

OP, Congrats, nice color! Be careful, the BLIS will spoil you. When my wife and I drive the RDX, we often look at the A-pillar covers wondering why they aren't lighting up when there are cars near our blind spots then an "Ah-hah" moment!

Besides, as you can see, Car Talk is thought of really highly on this forum by the members in here.

The TL-S is a great car IMO. This isone of the few Japanese cars that are not boring. Your new ride is nice. Look forward to seeing the mods you make to it. BTW the new grille to me looks calm and pleasing.
