I've never taken the bumper off the TL but have done other cars in the past. Anything besides the normal clips and 10mm bolts I should be aware of?
I have the instructions for the front under spoiler install and didn't see anything that might make the disassemble too much of a headache but thought I'd check with you guys too.

Just a few screws and 10mm bolts, make sure you put masking tape on the corners of the fenders where the bumper meets - as you pull the bumper off (forcefully so - to pop the clips it will feel like you're breaking something) its very easy to have the bumper scratch up the fenders if you aren't careful.

I had my friend help me take the bumper off...much easier with a helping hand. I'll get some better pictures during the day, but wanted to share some the results tonight. You can see a dramatic difference in cutoff. They are more predominant while driving, and the light output spreads wider providing better visibility. Cutoff is crisp and has better deep blue/purple color band. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work JnC did.

Access, I think you'll really enjoy the upgrade. Like most people reading this thread, I think you're looking for that extra light output and sharp cutoff (which is the way the TL should have been delivered to us from Acura). You won't be disappointed. Well worth it thanks to the excellent workmanship that JnC puts into it. I've researched the process extensively, but just never felt comfortable enough to take this DIY on myself. For me, it was definitely money well spent.

Looks great, Cam . I am glad we kept the silver ridges as they give the headlights some contrast and thank you so much for the output pictures. I have had a few people ask me about before and after pictures.

What part in NOVA are you located. Would like to see them in person. I've been holding it off to do this.

When the corner light is on, its a very muted amber color because of the dark tint. This was what I was hoping for (appear black during daylight, but still lights up amber)

Yes please
Are you asking for pictures of the light output from near and far? I'll try to take pictures tonight.

As far as the corner markers are concerned, the only way to achieve the matching white color you are referencing would be to either remove the amber cover completely or replace with a clear cover. The actual bulb behind it is white. They don't make clear covers or at least I was never able to find one so that wasn't even an option for me. Personally, I felt that removing the amber piece altogether made the housing look a little unfinished. I also wanted to minimize attracting unwanted attention from law enforcement, so tinting the amber corners black met all my needs, by giving it that nice clean monochromatic look during the day and providing amber output with the lights turned on at night. This was the same reason I updated the front turn signals to white/amber switchbacks.
BTW...I like how you color matched the grill insert. I was thinking of doing the same to mine and will be getting quotes from some body shops to paint.

I was stunned by how much light was repressed by the OEM lens on the projectors. Updating to the clear TSX-R lens was a huge step up.
I was considering other "brighter" bulbs like the Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI but not sure if the difference in light output would justify the price difference ($100 per pair vs $185). I would love to hear opinions on this by anybody who's tried the Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI bulbs.

P.S. - JnC modding the cutoff shields helps provide a nicer color band so the light looks like it's different colors at various angles. Also keep in mind that I'm also projecting onto a white fence.

I'd stick with stock bulbs as you get ample color at the cut off so no need to go to 5000k. CBIs are nice but you loose light intensity. People say that they are the same intensity as 85122+ Phillips and stock Osrams but they are not.
Zelya, I'll get to your PM shortly.

I'm really only interested in total lumens, and I thought the CBI provided more lumens over the standard 66240 I have currently (66240 @ 3200 lumens vs 66240 CBI @ 3500 lumens). That's what theretrofitsource was advertising. Can anybody confirm with real world experience?

Liking the TSX-R lenses. I did my lights the same way with the blacked out reflector. Looks way better than the chrome with a bulb just chillin there.
JnC you think I'll run into any issues if I re-open mine and add the lenses? What type of sealant do you use?

I don't think anyone on this forum has compared the two. However, this is the most comprehensive comparison thread that I have seen about the CBI's versus other bulb types.

About halfway down the thread, they have comparison pics of the stock Osrams in an S2K versus CBI. It may be the closest one to the TL in the whole thread.

Here is another thread that I found comparing the Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI (5000K) versus the Xenarc 66240 SYS (4200K). The SYS is the same temp as our OEM 66240 but they supposedly put out 3500 lumens compared to 3200 lumens on our OEM bulbs.
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...omparison-Pics
They say the CBI's may seem a bit greenish color out of the box but it will color shift to 5000K after 3-4 hours of use.

Quick question -
When you are opening up the 4G taillights is there a specific spot you are cutting them? Maybe you could post a rear pic of a set that have been done? Im getting ready to open mine up this week and taillights are an expensive thing to screw up ....lol
Thanks
