Hey guys,

Well, I have terrible news. I have a 2012 TL that I originally bought and registered in NC, where there's no front-license plates or front-tint laws. However, now I have to register the car in NJ and of course NJ has laws for both.

I can't have any front tints so I have to say bye-bye to my beautiful fully tinted windows and welcome the ugly clear glass =(.

In addition I need to mount a front license plate. However since the car was bought in NC, it didn't come with any mounting equipment. I looked on amazon for the bracket but I could only find one for a 3rd Gen TL. Can someone tell me the part number for the '12s?

Overall I'm a very very sad owner today =(

Holy crap, the Rho-Plate v2 is ~100 bucks? Wtf! Insane price for a piece of metal. I can't imagine they sell enough of those.

you might be able to buy it off the black market for cheaper for those that switched out or went plate-less

 

So advantages of it though:

- It uses your tow hook (so no drilling)
- You can transfer it to different cars (I bounced it between 3 of mine)
- Million ways of adjustment

I had the original Rho-plate which worked fine but would sag a bit every once in awhile. The updated version corrects that with the multiple mounting point thing on the tow adapter.
