Forged Silver Metallic
Hey Folks, searching posts for my apparent oil consumption, (1 qt in 2K miles with only 9K miles on it.), when I remembered a question i wanted to throw up here.
My car is a 2012, "Forged Silver Metallic". Is this a common color? We all know how our eyes divert to like cars and I haven't seen another car with this color. It's not quite Silver, but more like a baby blue metallic. I like it but was just curious on what the story was with this color.

Let me know what you think...

Thanks for the input. I don't mind the color but was wondering why I don't see any more of them.
You say they discontinued it, but what models came in that color before they discontinued?

I remember it. This "Forged Silver Metallic" color is the one that looks "light blue" under the sun, but changes to look "metallic grey" under the shade.
It was not a popular color for the 2012 TL and also for the TSX. Acura discontinued this color on the TL the following year.

It was only discontinued on the TL. The 2013 TSX, 2014 RDX and 2014 RLX are still available in Forged Silver Metallic.
I personally love the color bc it always changes. My fav is sunset time. I can't even give that color a name. Fluid, maybe I don't know if I would have got it if Silver Moon was available when I got my car though.

Does anyone know if they discontinued this color mid 2012? I see some FSM 2012's with a hint of blue and some FSM 2012's that don't have the hint of blue. Maybe the angle and lighting is playing with my eyes?

It's just different lighting. My car can look silver, grey or blue, depending on the lighting conditions.

The FSM for the 2012 TL was only a stop-gap "silver" color choice until the SSM started rolling out 6 months afterwards.
As soon as the SSM color was released, the FSM color was immediately dropped.
My dealership didn't even bother to order the 2012 TL in FSM color, because they said very few buyers went for the FSM color TSX, and almost NO buyers wanted the FSM color TL.

My 2013 RDX, that I no longer have, was FSM and I truly loved the color. Very elegant and changed under different lighting conditions. The subtle blue/purple hue was just gorgeous. I really like the FBP on the 2016 RDX, but liked the FSM better.
