Forged Silver or Graphite?
Which colour do you think looks nicer on the 2012 TL - Forged Silver or Graphite Lustre Metallic? And why?

Haven't seen one in person yet, but from the pix the Graphite looks nicer to me. It looks classy and the dark color sets off the stainless trim nicely.
The forged silver looks a little too "baby blue" in some of the pics for my taste. But maybe it looks better in the metal in natural light. Of course, just my .02.

The "forged silver" is one strange color. It looks like metallic grey inside the dealership, but turns to a faint light-blue color under the sun. I don't mind if the metallic grey color can stay as metallic grey under all lighting conditions. But the light-blue color isn't really my cup of tea.
In addition, the Acura dealership I went to, told me that they aren't ordering any 2012 TL from Honda in the "forged silver" color, because that the "forged silver" TSX's aren't a popular color choice at all.
I'll wait for the real silver color to come out in July.

Forged Silver - looks nice in bright sun, has a steel grey look to it, but in over cast and certain light (look at many of the pics) has a serious blue hue to it.
Graphite - In bright sun light really looks nice and the chrome accets and grill really pop on this car, but in dark lighting the car could pass for black.
At the ATL Auto show last week they had both colros and the Graphite to me is nicer, of course dark cars are harder to keep looking clean, but I feel the Graphite really looks classy.

Thanks everyone. I actually have a choice of either right now, but with the Graphite I can get the Elite/Advance package, whereas with the Forged Silver it's SH-AWD with Tech. So the wheels are not as nice but still pretty decent, and I will get to save $2000! I actually like the blue hue of the silver, and it's more of a unique colour than the Graphite. However, I can see how the Graphite would look very nice, too. I will have to make up my mind over the next day or so.... thanks so much for your opinions!

Before I picked up my Palladium '11, I asked my salesman what he though of the '12 Forged Silver...he said he had sold one at night to a woman and she loved the color, and the next morning when she came to pick it up, she complained that it wasnt the color she picked and that she didnt like it anymore, and actually changed her car for a different color

I also agree with discussions in other strings that you have to see the 2012 in person to appreciate the design changes. I liked the look of the revised grill and tinted lights.
Will try to get some pics later this week. They had about 8 new TLs!

Real Color?
Have you actually seen these two colors on the '12 TL in person? I just received the Acura brochure on the 2012 TL in the mail today, and it included a color/trim section. The Forged Silver Metallic in it does not have the same hint of blue hue that's on the Acura website. Based on the brochure color, I like the Forged Silver over the Graphite Luster, which is closer to what I currently have on my '07 TL.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the color of on my TL. However, I'm looking to buy a '12 TL later this year, and don't want to get the exact same color - I'd like the neighbors to notice that I got a new car.
I had a Silver '03 CL, and the Forged Silver in the brochure is definitely darker than it. Also, I had a black Accord and it really showed light colored dirt and dust too.
I wonder if the true color on the TL website is wrong - or my monitor needs adjustment.

Not sure I've seen Forged Silver, but I do like the Graphite. I tend to find most silver colors boring, though. If it really is bluish, then add even more suck to that... lol.

Some examples of the "forged silver" color with a light-blue hue :

You really have to go and see the real "forged silver" TL to appreciate the dramatic color changes.
I really wish that "forged silver" color stays greyish silver under all lighting conditions, because if it had, I would have already parked one inside my garage.

I finally saw both the Graphite and Forged Silver at the same place in person today! Both are great colours. I really like the Forged Silver especially because of its dramatic changes in appearance in different lighting conditions, but at the end, I chose the Graphite over it because the darker colour really shows off the metal trim very nicely.
I should be getting my Graphite Elite very soon! Cannot wait!!! :-)

I was suprised by the forged silver when I saw it at the dealer. I saw it in the late evening and it looked real nice, a very dark silver, not a hint of blue. Id be interested to see it on a sunny day. The graphite in the same light, was real dark, almost black. It looked nice, but too dark for my taste.

Waking this thread back up.. to give my 2 cents in case anyone else starts panicking about buying a FSM TSX.
When i first saw/test-drove the car, i loved the color. I did notice the blue-ish hue in the sunlight... but not in a significant or bad way. It felt good actually... as if the paint was reflecting the sky.
As soon as i went home and starting reseaching, i eventually ran into this thread. It scared the heck out of me.
I started re-imagining how blue that car was and how i didn't notice. A man driving a baby blue car?? What's wrong with me..
Then i started googling for photos of the car. WOW that car was so blue... how disgusting. The photos REALLY bring it out.
But it didn't make sense because I never got a bad impression when i saw the car. I decided to bring a family member and check the car out again... I prepped the family member about how blue the car was... and to tell me if i'm crazy for not noticing it.
As soon as we got there... I pointed out the car, and my sister said "I thought you said it was blue?"
I couldn't even convince her it was slightly blue. I could tell if I really looked at it hard... but it's BARELY noticeable. No one will notice it until you point it out.
It's a great paint... and consider seeing it in person before you read this thread
I now own that car. The online photos somehow exagerate how blue it is...
Good luck!

I agree with you. I checked out a TL recently that was FSM and really liked it. I kind of like how the color changes under different light. I ended up purchasing a white TL but wouldn't have ruled out a FSM one had I come across one in my searching.
