Extended Warranties in Florida

I've been trying to price out extended warranties (AcuraCare) on the internet for my 2009 TL with 25k. Found out that since I bought and registered the car in FL, that I must buy the warranty in FL. Going through the local dealership and the dealership I bought the car from have yielded outrageous prices compared to what the internet has... quoted 2.1k for extention out 5 more years and 80k more. Wow.

Anyone have any good contacts to where I can get AcuraCare warranties for cheaper in FL? Search did not yield any results within the past few years...

I purchased my 5yr/100mile extended warranty with 0 deductible from Bernardi Acura: http://www.bernardiservicecontracts.com/Acura.aspx call the 800 number at the top of the page. Cost me 1,650 which i'm paying in monthly installments with 0% interest. I remember reading the FL laws are strict when it comes to warranties but hopefully Bernardi can help you out.

1,650 is dealer cost, I don't think Curry is offering that unless you buy a car from them.

No joy on Bernardi. If the dealership is outside of FL, you can't buy it and apply it to a car registered in FL.

Its a scam...and I think the dealerships know this and charge an ungodly amount.

Correct! The dealers have us over a barrel on this one. The only way to get around it is to try to negotiate a better price for the extended warranty during the deal itself. Another option would be to get a warranty with a third-party writer but do some very thorough research before committing.

Lame. It's ok though, we have 22 Acura dealers in our state alone. Call around and start pricing and if it's worth it to you, you could drive/fly out to the dealer.

That sucks a D. Lawn I called 15 dealerships in NY/NJ/PA/MA before I came across Bernardi.

I wouldn't normally get an extended warranty, but I've had to get the torque converter replaced already on the car and its only got 25k on it.
