Expecting 2012 Delivery

I just pulled the trigger on a 2012 with the following specs.

SH-AWD with Advanced Package
Graphite/Ebony Color
Splash Guard Protection Package
Body Side Moldings

The dealers here in So Cal are not giving much discount. I got it for $46202.72 (excluding taxes)
. So just barely below MSRP. Not exactly a deal, but these cars are in very short supply. My exact color and trim was not on the lot, but I expect to take delivery on 04/05. I guess I could have waited a few more months a save a few hundred more dollars.

Any thoughts on if I could have done a lot better in this market? I welcome your feedback.

Ardenne90

btw...I sold my 2006 TL w/Nav for $14,600 to a private buyer. So I will be hitching a ride with the gf until I take delivery of the new gf...LOL

From what I am hearing, this early in run of only a week or so, any discount you get is special. I put a deposit down on a '12 bellanova white/ebony and expected delivery is 4/3 then they will add my extras.... so 4/5 for you is not unusual.

I haven't sat down with the dealer yet to crunch the numbers

Here is a couple of shots the slaesman sent me to show some wheel options the dealer has. The shots aren't great but the open hood shot looks cool. I think they are installing the areo kit on the second pic.

Thanks for all the compliments! I expect to take delivery by 04/05 latest. I know I could have done better as Norm Reeves Acura (Mission Viejo) later gave me a quote with $1,200 off MSRP. But this was a penny short and a day late. Nevertheless I am still happy with my purchase.

Congrats on your new 2012 STEW4HD...nice color combo!

btw, I bought the gf a 2011 TSX w/Tech , pro pack 2 and body side moldings. MSRP was $34,082 and I got it for $29,952 from DCH Acura of Tustin. The guys at Tustin are very aggresive with pricing and are not afraid to deal. I can't say the same for DCH Acura of Temecula where the Sales Manager is very inflexible. I know my sales guy for many years...great guy...he was the only reason I even bothered to buy the car there. So I don't regret the purchase as I was helping out a friend.

I will post pictures of both rides soon.

Did I mention that the Internet Sales guy at DCH of Temecula reminds me of a used car salesman? If you are in the SoCal area and in the market for an Acura, you should checkout DCH Acura of Tustin. These guys run a top-notch car sales operation. These guys have lots of cars, they treat you like royalty, no pressure environment, and they just want to sell cars. No games, no drama..period!!! If I can mention names, I could provide the name of my Sales guy at Tustin just in case anyone may be interested.

Similar to me, the salesman told me that the package I want (same as yours) is not available in Houston but by putting the deposit down, I am assigned a VIN and my car is being transferred from another dealer's inventory.

Arrow My 2012 Acura TL is at the dealership...

I was due for a new TL. Previously have owned the 1999 & 2004 TL's. The timing was not good with the model correction coming out. I wanted the new 6 speed auto transmission and some of the technology refinements. I worked out a deal with my local Acura dealer. Car prep is tomorrow. I bought

SH-AWD with Technology Package
Graphite Luster Metallic/Ebony Interior

I worked out a deal for $2000 off the list price. That is probably about the best I can do at this time. I am looking forward to delivery on Wednesday. Will try to post some photos at that time.

Congrats! I look forward to your pics.

How did you get the $2k off? No incentives? Acura owners discount? I go in for negotiations on Thursday. Just wondering where others found room to work.

Did not use a salesman....

This was the 3rd TL I purchased from the dealership over 12 years. I dealt with one of the managers. I knew what I wanted and did not need a salesperson. That probably made it easier to get the 2K off. Not a great deal but considering the car came out a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was a fair deal.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, not much wiggle room with the new release car. The demand has been pretty good, according to the salesguy I have been chatting with.

One other thought..

When I walked in I stated that I was looking for 2K off or would wait until the fall. I literally walked out 5 minutes after talking to the one of the managers who knew me from the last sale. We agreed in less than 5 minutes. That was this past Thursday. He told me it would take until April 4th to get the car I wanted. Called today 3/28 and told me the car was already in. Could not have been an easier process.

I had a very similar experience. Having rapport with the dealership from previous purchases helps very much.

What did you end up getting, Doc?

I purchased a 2012 TL

SH-AWD with Technology Package
Graphite Luster Metallic/Ebony Interior

I may still add on side molding and the splash guards. Any other accessories will wait till later.

This was a much easier purchase than trying to find an Ipad2

Talking Coming in tomorrow!

Hey guys, first post here. Placed the order over the weekend and the car's being delivered tomorrow (Toronto)

Finally decided to trade in my '04 TL. I was deciding between a 370Z and a '12 TL 6MT (I know, not an apple to apple comparison), but eventually caved in to functionality and practicality over boyish fun! (Though the 6MT is no slouch!)

So, Black on black '12 TL 6MT (loved the Umber seats but they would take a month or two to come in in 6MT), with $2k off the MSRP. Can't wait!!!! I'll post pics soon.

Congrats! Wow, amazed how many had similar thoughts about the 370Z when considering the TL. Then again, the thread sporting runs through it...either way enjoy your kumquat! LOL

I have an important question. Can I cancel my purchase contract without penalty, since I have not yet taken delivery of the vehicle? Other dealers I spoke with say that I can.

Thanks,

I saw the Bellanova White Pearl again today. I must say that now that I see it again, I have changed my mind, and it seems to work quite well with the 2012 TL. This colour shows off the very clean re-design of the 2012 TL. I can see that with the umber interior, it would be quite stunning!

I saw the Forged Silver too - with the SH-AWD package, it is very elegant and striking indeed!

The Internet Sales Mgr tried pushing back, but his manager just folded and said ok. However, my sales guy then called and said he would do whatever it takes to make me change my mind and keep the car. So I told him that $2,500 off MSRP will get me in the car. I could be greedy and ask for more, but I am a reasonable guy.

My sales guy says he need to get an additional approval from the GM, who had already left for the evening. So he is going to call me back first thing tomorrow.

I will be trading an 09 base with tech for a 12 base with advance package . I worked out the deal and was only able to get 700 off and the wood steering wheel.
