Don't know what under body kit to buy

I just bougt a 09 tl sh awd tech package with taupe interior. My next step is to get a lip kit for it, but i dont have a clue on which one. I saw that there are two types... the ron jon and the factory. Are there any more or are those the only two avaliable? The car has been out for about 4 years now, so I figured there are more parts for it.

Do not change your car!!! It looks perfect!

Hah,

But seriously. RonJon looks really nice, I'd go with that.

Answer--NONE! These might look pretty sharp when initially installed but after a few years, every car I have seen with some tack-on body kit (ranging from Honda's to Mercedes) end up looking cheesy.

Just my opinion.

This is in my opinion usually those aftermarket manufacturers like Erebuni and such lose it's appeal after a few years. The factory kits, looks great after years of usage, for example the lip kit for the 2001 Maxima looks pretty good even until now.

I agree, RonJon front and the balance Factory OEM.

Generally by doing factory OEM it never loses it's appeal, never looks tacky, and always looks the cleanist.

Good thing is that the RonJon front exemplifies the clean look!

I still got mixed feelings about it.... I might go with the oem cause the Ron Jon doesn't come painted.... Ima take my time cause I don't want to regret it later. By the way is the XLR8 really that loud?....I'm interest it in getting one but I don't want it to sound like a civic or integer with a loud exhaust....I want it to sound mean....let me know

+1

I'd rather invest in getting rid of the wheel gap first I've been extremely happy with the ride quality of H&R sport springs and Tokico Illumina shocks on my 01 CL for the last 5 years or so. TL already has a good factory suspension but the appearance can always be improved.

Other bodykit manufacturer's aren't run by enthusiasts, we have passion in our eyes, not dollar signs. The quality and style is not typical. Check out our thread and see our progress and the amount of work / dedication it took to make it happen.

IMO, that's the #1 rule in modding! Unless you have money to throw around. I learned the hard way how much it sucks to rush into something, regret it, then spend more money to get it right.

I second the other opinions of combining the OEM sides / rear and RJ front. Though you can't go wrong with OEM all around either...I'm very happy with mine.

Good luck!

OEM that way when you trade it is an add and not a -$$

Wish they made a kit for the '12, the new OEM kit looks like the just wanted to glue stuff on the bumpers HATE HATE HATE it

I don't think there will ever be any aftermarket body kit for the 2012 TL.

RonJon has gone through too many troubles cranking out a kit just for the low-volume pre-2012 TL, and won't do it again.

The only likely aftermarket kit in the future will be an OEM knockoff kit made out of
fiberglass, similar to the one done for the 2G TL's.

I had the oem kit on my 2010, and thought it looked great. The paint match was very good.
I also have the full oem kit on my 2012 and love it. Ron jon or oem ....both are nice.

OEM on a '12 looks great on a dark color, white however looks like they just "stuck on" extra pieces.

I don't understand why they need to go half way up the bumper and not just a lip kit like the pre '12's.

Honda did the same thing with Accord coupe when I had that, the 7gen kit was just that a lip kid and looked killer, 8gen it was a giant cow catcher bumper cover.
