Which deal would you pick?
My 03 Corolla is finally showing signs of slowing down after 150K. I've decided on the Acura TL for my next car. However, I'm undecided on the following offers:
2011 Basic TL for $31,300.
2011 TL with tech for $34,500
2012 Basic TL for $34,200
My budget is $35K
I really like the 2012 body over the 2011 body.
Which offer would you pick?
Thanks.

Have you driven any of those yet? You will get more in the 11 and can hope the look grows on you or go with the 12. Spend some time at the dealership.. look them over and over.. go home, think it over and you will come up with the answer
You could also probably pick up an '11 SH-AWD Tech for around 37k, which is what I did today. I had the FWD Tech, and regretted not waiting for the SH-AWD when it first came out. After test driving it, it was a huge difference.

I'd pick a car with navi over the newer model without navi. Believe me the navi system adds a whole new relm of fun. It's not just navigation you get but a much upgradded sound system and fully integreated car as well.

Not to mention the ELS, the stock soudn system is decent, but no comparison to ELS.
i wouldnt even bother getting a car nowadys without some kind of tech package with nav....door number 2 if thoes are your only choices...otherwise see if you can up your budgent a little and get a sh awd tech....
Wait a bit and get the 12 awd when prices come down.
Tech only if you really care about the music and nav.
Either way, going from a corolla to a tl you'd be really happy no matter what packages you choose as thats a huge step up (and the same step I took, except it was a 95 corolla to an 05 tl 6 years ago).

Actually, it's the AWD that makes this car. It already comes nicely loaded without the tech and if you don't need the nav and upgraded sound then save your money towards a AWD model if anything...it's what makes this car go from a normal everyday car to a wonderful handling sports sedan for all seasons, including summers.
You should research the TL + AWD and see what many owner enthusiasts and articles say about it. Better yet, drive them both aggressively and see the difference for yourself!
I would try to find a used 2010 TL SH-awd w/Tech with less than 15k miles for under $35k. It can be done, with reasonable searching. There's no real difference between the '10 and the '11. Plus you get the whole package: TL, awd, & tech for the same price.
I'm leaning towards going with a used '10 TL SH-awd w/ Tech. I'm primarily interested in an Acura Certified vehicle. Would you guys take a certified vehicle to your own mechanic to check out? Or would you be comfortable enough with Acura's program?
Certified doesn't mean all that much besides a warranty. The worst certified vehicle I've seen was an Acura TL-S with a repainted hood. Another one didn't even have enough oil to show on the dipstick. Get it checked out like you would any other used car.
Edit: These two cars were at different dealerships in different states.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I decided to go with a basic 2012 TL for $34,200. They are searching around for a white one for me, so I don't have the car yet. I just could not afford the additional Tech package.
The AWD and Tech package really take this car to another level. I've seen some crazy prices here in GA, ones in Atlanta right around $35K around 20K miles
