don't do the whole fwd + dealer add ons thing; it's a rip off. before i bought my G37S and after I sold my 3G TL, i pushed for 38.3 for a 6mt 2010 TL (palladium) sh-awd and got the deal; but i opted in another direction. you can go lower. good luck!

2010 sh-awd/tech 18" wheels = 38k otd....

for 1k more, why wouldnt you just get the awd car...i dont know about the parchment interior, i would do umber or black...the umber is really cool in the black car as it has reverse stitching in the shifter/steering wheel...ie, the seats have black stitching, and the steering wheel and shifter have umber stiching...very cool..

In February I got 2010 SH-AWD with Tech, mud guards, trunk liner, wheel locks, first oil change free $38,100 WO Tax License.. Being it is now YEAR END, I would say $37,300 should be the NORM! Or wait for the 2011 as they are arriving now...

Man, that seems like a killer deal Since I basically am the one doing all the negotiating, Im going to try to get these guys to come off that price some.

Ideally we would want to purchase the SH-AWD. Your right, for only 1k we would rather have the superior handling and ability to tackle inclement weather should we see any. My fiance is coming from a $400mo car payment and is just having a hard time accepting a larger monthly payment(based on what shes putting down etc..).

Back to the dealer today for more negotiating, but I will definitely report back. Thanks for you guys help

NO DEAL!!!

Where you reside?

I am in California, and I bought my TL late JULY and there were so many good offers.

I used internet quotes by contacting multiple dealers and the best offers I got were

2010 TL SH-AWD w/ Tech Package CBP/Ebony $35,900.00 <from Thomas Acura at West Covina, CA>

2010 TL Base w/ Tech Package + 18 wheel CBP/Ebony $33,900.00 <from Tustin Acura Tustin, CA>

Both without tax.

I ended up with Base TL Tech with 18 wheel because I thought I wouldn't be needing AWD since I am in California, especially Orange County.

but if you can, I would recommend to aim for SH-AWD because it is so much fun to drive^^

Also, avoid all the factory installed body kits and stuff. They are so much overpriced!!!.

Anyway, I think you still can negotiate more and get better deal.

If you are in OC area, I can forward you the emails I got from dealers that has quote and contact info for the salesmen.

Good luck with your new purchase!!

I got the 2010 TL SH-AWD Tech w/HPT 6spd Manual CBP with Ebony interoir (that included Sport Grill and Rear Trim, Rear Seat Cover, Mud flaps, cargo net and cargo liner) with 7yr/125K full fledged warranty, free oil change) all out the door for a 40K TTL! back in June, I had been contacting the internet sales manager from Afghanistan months prior, they basically only had this one in inventory minus all the upgrades I added, and since no one here in San Antonio apparently wanted a Manual AWD score for me I watched almost a month and a half before I got home they removed it from inventory hahah I showed up at the dealer on our arranged date, test drove/inspected it and within an hour total I was out the door signed and in my name, I also put 20k down on it so I got the 0.9% for 60months Acura was offering (not sure if this is still going or not)

Keep in mind at the time Acura had a dealer marketing kickback of $2250 for the TLs ontop of all the other incentives and discounts they thought I didnt know about the marketing one but I didnt have to push hard, my dealer took good care of me imo! And let me say heads turn when I roll around town in this puppy and damn is she quick!

Prices off the coasts and outside of TX are higher - presumably b/c there are fewer Acura dealers and thus less competition among them.

38.5 for an SH-AWD is not a bad price in those regions - in fact, it's pretty good. If you're in the NE, Cali or TX, you can do better by 1-2K.

17's

I value ride comfort and while I like the look of the 18's, I would be unwilling to stiffen up the ride any more than it already is with the 17's.

Check this out: http://www.edmunds.com/incentives/Re...ives.2.2.Acura*

Beside all rebates and Incentives, the dealer holdback for Acura is 3% of MSRP.

Yup thats where I got my info from too Edmunds was point on, there was another website I'll have to look on my work laptop that I used to input all factors, pricing rebates etc to have a properly formatted formal offer for my dealer! Showed them what I was willing to pay and still give them some money because after they have to make money somewhere. But its basically what I felt was fair on my terms not theirs. And as listed above I think I got one sweet deal as my pricepoint out the door was 40k for everything and thats what I got!

Agreed, with this economy you should be able to take home the hottest girl in the dealership as part of the transaction. Everyone needs a little extra help around the house.

How much of a discount sounds reasonable for a demo car with 5k miles on it? I'm currently looking at a 2010 6mt sh-awd/tech/HPT to which the dealer installed:
- Body Kit: $1600
- Front Grill: $319
- Rear Deck Trim: $90
- Trunk Drawer: $196 (Yikes!)
- Body Side Molding: $196
- Some others that I can't remember for ~$400
- Total ~ $3k

They claim the MSRP is $47.2k with all the dealer installed equip, and that they won't let it go for less than $41.5k. In my mind, the standard (< 100 miles) 2010 6mt sh-awd/tech/HPT is going for ~$39k before TTL right now. Even paying full price for the options, I'm seeing NO discount for the 5000 miles / half year of demo-abuse.

Is it unreasonable to think at least a 5% discount is in order? $39k? Or should I just move on, rather than deal with the unknown abuse?

Thanks in advance for any help…been stalking the TL forums for a few months now while preparing for a purchase. Lots of great info here.

I'd move on. People are paying anywhere from about 37 to 38.5 for a brand new 6MT, admittedly without all the dealer-installeds of the car you're looking at. But if you figure a base price of 38K, factor in some kind of discount for the fact that it has 5,000 miles on it (and is about to be - technically - a one year old car) maybe you're at 35K or so. Add back the dealer add-ons and that gets you to 38K, and I think that's being pretty conservative. IMO 41.5 is too rich for a demo, even with the add-ons (and that assumes you even want all of those items).

Good luck shopping. You'll enjoy the 6MT immensely once you find one at the right price for you.

Thanks for backing my thoughts up. The sales guy seemed to agree too, but couldn't get his manager to sign off (I know, the oldest dealer trick...). The wild thing is that this dealer had two 6mt's, both used as demos with 5k miles on the odo. To me, that screams "we can't sell these things" and that they'd be more realistic on pricing. That, or the sales manager is having too much fun driving them.

I've already started to solicit quotes from the 100-200 mile away dealers. Hopefully they aren't as delusional wrt to the market value of their vehicles!

Wow, TLs have the same incentives as a Ford or Chevy now. Bummer for overall resale, but good for the folks that are in the market now. I think all of the deals in this thread sound pretty "good" in terms of MSRP.

Are you a Costco member? At our Costco dealer, they were offering $1000 under invoice on the 2010 TL's.

Yes, the only resale that is usually affected by incentives is the immediate one which is in the first year but that is not really a problem as long as you are one who is also taking full advantage of the incentives and getting one of the better deals that are fesible in this time. The 2 and 3 year resale plus should be at least as high as projected.

Doesn't mean cars can't continue to suffer as a result of excessive discouting, incentives and fleeting but I don't think it is the case here and if so then that just means lessees whos intention is to just return the vehicle, make out.

I will look into that, but I am not so sure that you are right about that.

I priced a TL FWD with 18" wheels and the Costco price was $36,600. Invoice was $37,600

Big NO to that price. Current rebate for TL is $1500 and Marketing Support for TL w/Tech is $2250. The max you can pay for is:
Invoice - (Rebate + Marketing support) = Your Price.
If you are a good negotiator, you can get some of the dealer holdback (3%). Especially at the year end, I think all dealers try to clear their lots for the newer models to arrive. Good Luck

Thanks for the link to the Edmunds sight that lists incentives. That is pretty helpful.

I wonder what would be a reasonable offer on the car I am looking at. White FWD TL TECH with 18" wheels. The Costco price offered was $36,600, but with those incentives I should be able to go lower, but by how much?

If you are a good negotiator, you can get some of the dealer holdback (3%). Especially at the year end, I think all dealers try to clear their lots for the newer models to arrive. Good Luck
So the Invoice is $36,700 - $1500 - $2250 = $33,850. That is what I should offer and would they take it. I don't fully understand. Will they still make money on that price?

Sorry about so many posts, I don't see where I can edit or erase my posts. Do I need a minimum number of posts or something.

The invoive for 2010 Acura TL4dr Sedan w/Technology Package, 18" Wheels (3.5L 6cyl 5A) is $37,011 + $860 Destination = $37,871.
The highest you can pay is $37,871 - ($1500 + $2250) = $34,121.

Don't worry how the dealers make their money, they always make something out from you (customers) and from the manufactures (Acura).

There are a lots of members here paid around $33K for the FWD w/Tech. I bought my 2010 TL Base for only $30K. ($3533 BELOW invoice)
