Daily Driver Choice

If you had a choice of any car in the market for an everyday driver, what car/truck/SUV would you choose?
Lets say that it needs to be a 6 speed manual and you would need to do some driving in the winter that would involve snow and ice.

I imagine you're just looking for ideas, so I'll try to help you out.

It depends what your priorities are for the car.

If you want to sacrifice some interior quality and interior space for straight line acceleration, then G37xS over TL SH-AWD. If acceleration is that much of a priority, you can dump most of your interior space and some luxury for a 335i.

My personal feature list for a daily driver is...
  1. High quality, real leather interior
  2. Convenience features (gadgetry)
  3. AWD/4WD
  4. Good interior/cargo room
  5. Good acceleration
  6. Sporty handling (but not a giant go-kart)
  7. Excellent dealer service (Well, this is any car)
I discovered that as soon as you try to combine these, your options become very limited, very fast.

If I could have had anything with those features and a 6-speed, it would be a loaded 535xi. However, that's $60k and my car was $37k. I also felt the TL SH-AWD handled better, which was kind of absurd considering the price difference.

A Cadillac CTS would be a great choice as well, and I did like it. There's just that whole 'Government Motors' thing.

And the OP would posit that question in this 4G forum because why? Expecting a different answer?

Any vehicle you want, as long as it has Nokian Hakkapeliitta's on it in the winter.

2010 Audi S4......power, AWD, sexy styling.....Actually, I'm very close to thinking about putting down a deposit for one.......they're saying there's a 6-8 month waiting list already on this car. If I decide to jump in, I might actually get the one with the dual-clutch tranny instead of a 6-sp manual.

The wait could mean there is a possible mark up also? I'm guessing the msrp won't be higher than the S5 which is like 52k.
