Considering selling my baby..

Wondering what my car is even worth these days.
The car has been garaged from day one of me owning it...I bought it when it had like either 7k or 11k on it, dont recall.
Silver/black- MANUAL...I only have 45,000 miles on it.
Outside of a few paint chips on the rear bumper the car is in perfect condition inside and out. No accidents or major issues.
I am considering a new RDX.

well, the easiest thing for you to do is to compare it to others like yours that are on the market...

if you head to www.autotempest.com and search for your exact car with an approximate mileage close to yours, you will get an idea.

this one is on the market for $18,900.

https://www.carvana.com/vehicle/1765...paign=referral

although, listed prices doesnt always mean it will sell at that price.
so, it comes down to YOU. how fast do you want to sell your baby?
if you dont care how long it takes, list it for $19k.

if you want to get rid of it right now, ASAP, today!
then list it lower

Interesting....that one has purchase pending for 19K and it has wayyyyyy more miles (78000 vs 45000). I may have to consider listing it.

you'll get a lot of people that will tell you to kick rocks.
hell, if I were looking, id tell you to fuck off even with 45k miles.

however, that one perfect buyer will come around and purchase the car for your asking price. eventually.

Dude list it for atleast 22k-24k. It will sell within a week probably. I just bought one, they were selling out instantly so I had to pay what I had to pay. List on craigslist - sold within 2 days type of thing. Couldn't even view the one that appeared an hour away from me. Yours is better. I would shoot for 24k at least assuming you had the engine rebuild done. I think the time has passed when you can get it done for free so thats out the door for the next guy. If you didn't then maybe less. The only other comparable cars are going for more and have higher costs of ownership. They just don't make manual AWD cars. There are so few of these MT AWD TLs that if you have a good one then you already have the market cornered, no competition. Even if there wasn't a shortage of new cars, you couldn't get one because no one makes one anymore except the WRX. You are really only competing with used S4-5, 335-340ix, evo's and wrxs.

If its in good shape, clean title, etc...high teens to low 20's in today's market

You'll have to overpay for whatever you buy to replace it though. So...consider that before selling.

There aren't enough of these in your condition to establish a market. You set the market. Set it as high as you want and see what happens. There have been maybe 5, probably less MT AWD 2012+ with that kind of mileage sold this year. So yeah, the last one maybe did sell for 20k. But it sold instantly. The market isn't really being tested. Basically every single MT TL that pops up in good condition is already spoken for or is within a day. So to me that means you can list it for higher and be fine.

I didn't have an oil consumption issue on my TL, so no engine rebuild.
I have never had a sliver of trouble with my engine either. It runs like new.
I'll have to mull it over but I do believe I could sell the car in the low 20's. Which would be pretty awesome because I bought it for 27k 6 years ago

I sold my 13 6MT with about 101k miles for 15.5k about 4 months ago. It took me about 2 weeks to sell it after listing, but I have to admit I didn't get as much interest as I thought I would.

As everyone is saying, it'll sell and the right buyer will come along.

27K in 2015 is worth $31.5K today.

Still not bad depreciation. But again, you'll be overpaying for your new car.

Perhaps. I would maybe consider buying new as there are far more incentives on new cars. Maybe even leasing...not sure. Still weighing the pros and cons.

I have same car and about same mileage. I ve been following the manual 4g market for the past few years. I check listings daily on various sites.
I wouldnt take less then $23k for yours. Manuals with low milage dont pop up too often (although on popped up on carvana few weeks ago with only 9k miles..i think i sold for $24ish).
A RDX would be fun. But i think you would regret it if you sold the tl for under $20k.

See if carvana gives u an instant offer. I tried it on another car i was selling and it blew dealer offers away by a boatload…obviously market is differebt for each car but since a few manual
sold on carvana u may get a decent offer. Lets us know!

List it for $19-20k
Guaranteed there is a buyer out there for that price. I was one of them.

Carvana will buy my car today for 19,500....so I feel confident I could sell it for at least 21-22k pretty easily.
A mint 2012 6 speed with 45K miles on it does not exist on the market right now. I am still on the fence if that's what I want to do, but it is nice to know
I can recoup 80% of what I paid for it 6 years ago.

Having recently acquired the 2013 6MT myself, what is making you sell it? The RDX has what advantages to you?
I've been pushing it in dry, wet, and snow and love the way it handles.

**not counting for inflation.
Remember, money depreciates too.

Still probably not terrible in terms of actual depreciation. But....not 80% residual.

You're also going to need to pay for a new car in today dollars.

Best not to try to justify this fiscally. Do it because you want to.

Just looking for something different I guess. No issues with the car whatsoever. But if I could get an SUV with some updated tech that is equally speedy, I would not be mad.

Disgusting. Almost vomited.

Lol. Jk..this doesn't make sense to me. A new RDX is like a $50K (plus tax) impulse buy.

As you said its equally speedy. So...zero gain there.

It'll have android auto and some new safety features.

In 2 days, you'll be over all that.

In 60 months, you'll be done paying for the $30K delta cost.

However, that tech will be outdated in 12 months.

You've entered the trap.

Idk man. Its winter....we're all bored. But look at your own posts.

It doesn't seem like you're even hyped about the RDX.

"Idk...its been 6yrs"
"equally speedy"
"would not be mad"

all VERY passionate and expressive things.

Its like you think you'd be more content WITHOUT $30K? Bored? Maybe committing to pay $500/month for 5 years will cheer you up.

Don't forget, no 6MT in the RDX either which most people who go from manual to auto sometimes regret.
6 years of problem free owner ship I hope?
The reliability of these Acuras win me over everytime.
