chrome pillar post

i rec'd an email from a company called ses trims www.sestrims.com and they specialize in chrome pillars. i was curious to know if anyone added this on to their car; 2009 tl. if so is it good quality, does the 3m tape really grip or do u see it to be loose where a car wash might pull it off, and most importantly how does it look. the pics they sent me make the car look sharp. sorry, i couldn't figure a way to post the pic. anyone?

I gotta see that in person to give a true thumbs up, but it looks interesting from the photos. I'm kinda leaning towards making things black on my Black Pearl, not adding chrome, but it's always nice to have options.

Nyl, I also went to the site. It looks like very high end stuff, which hopefully leads you to believe that these B pillars will be the same top quality. If you order them, make sure you know what their return policy is-just in case you get them and don't like them on your TL.

S2000,

yes, that is the email that i received. i didn't think anything of it when i 1st rec'd the email but i noticed when i was getting my car washed there was some chrome on the back door window area. i was hoping that someone might have purchased and installed them already and get their opinion.

Steven,

it can be returned w/ no probs but the 3m can't be stuck to the chrome pillar.

^^ Right !! Buddy, you might consider ordering them and just holding them up to your car to see how you like them. Either way, let us know what you decide and please post some pictures if you do get them.

I've got to agree with Pete on this one -- not to my taste.

But whatever floats your boat

i might have to agree aswell, but that company sure makes it look nice, but whatever.

how dark are your tints? i see that u live in chi aswell i just got pulled over and given a $75 tix for tint. it was by the state police and they said that they are on the look out for tinted front windows, so i guess i have to remove the front windows. Il allows rear tint, right?

There are other choices at this site. They have kits for the interior and exterior trim in a pretty good assortment of colors and looks. I did the interior of my S2000 in Carbon Fiber. It looked good. It was easy to install as long as you follow instructions to the tee and get all of the Armor All off of the surfaces.

I'm sure with the quality of the 3M contact tape, the exterior parts won't come off easily.

I got light tints for the sides and med. tint for the rear....I was very tempted to go darker but don't want to go through the hassle of being pulled over. It's dark enough from certain angles but head-on, it hardly looks tinted so cops leave me alone.

I can vouch for the carbon fiber interior trim kits too. I've got one now in my TL and really love the look.

I think it may look good. One thing you must pay attention to is it must cover all hard black plastic. You don't want to see the tiny line of black plastic along the edge. That makes it look cheap!
